    • you nailed it with the remote start. That is more specific.  I do not recommend remote start units on these. I have never had one for in one of mine. Too many things going on. I would suggest unplugging the unit and see if things return to normal. I do not trust units that start to cause issues as they can damage components and can possibly be a fire hazard
    • Thanks you guys...to be more specific 1) The car has an aftermarket remote start; seems to work fine up to this point. 2) Oddly, 2 nights ago, the car started ITSELF twice during the night! The next morning the battery was flat DEAD. 3) We jump started the car, drove for an hour, and when we returned home, it started fine. 4) HOWEVER, I did notice the radio stayed ON, even after turning off the ignition, AND removing the key, and yes, also after opening the doors! So, I found that with no key, the windows operate, W/S wipers, radio, but NOT the dash, or blower fan, so basically it acts as if it's stuck in the accessory position.  Does it sound like a ( key/mechanical ) ignition switch, or the relay further down the column, as shown by Logan? Thanks, you guys are really helpful!     Bill in VT
    • 4/2/2020 I had the guys over at Linear Automotive in Plano come fetch the ATS-V this week for a brake refresh.  It has 42K miles on it now so they would be needed soonish, and it is a great time to send work to locally owned businesses. The parts were a little eye watering.  Although my friends at Crest Cadillac in Frisco offered to just change the pads front & rear for $950, no one really turns rotors any more to get them back to flat.  I generally think of an easy brake job as inexpensive, but didn't consider V brakes. I had the parts shipped from RockAuto.com so the MSRP on each part was signicantly more.  In fact, the first estimate for the whole job was over $3K just to refresh the brakes, pads & rotors. The front rotors retail for $733 each; the right & left are different. The front pads retail for over $500. Here was the final discount parts / materials bill from Rockauto:   Part Number Part Type Price EA Core EA Quantity Total No Vehicle Specified ACDELCO 1711040 (171-1040) Brake Pad $ 229.79 $ 0.00 1 $ 229.79 ACDELCO 1711127 (171-1127) Brake Pad $ 116.79 $ 0.00 1 $ 116.79 ACDELCO 1771233 (177-1233) Rotor $ 75.79 $ 0.00 2 $ 151.58 2016 CADILLAC ATS 3.6L V6 Turbocharged ACDELCO 1771194 (177-1194) Rotor $ 354.79 $ 0.00 1 $ 354.79 ACDELCO 1771193 (177-1193) Rotor $ 354.79 $ 0.00 1 $ 354.79 Discount   $ -60.39 Shipping DHL Domestic Express $ 126.97 Tax   $ 101.95 Order Total   $ 1376.27 Visa   -$ 1376.27 Balance Due   $ 0.00  Then there were labor charges for doing the brakes themselves, and brake fluid flush, so that added another almost $600. so, the good news is Rockauto and Linear Automotive saved me around $1K compared to full retail for the same parts & services.    The bad news is now I have to recalibrate how much I think it costs to refresh the brakes on a V-Series.
    • The Deville does use the saginaw until 99. Was the last year.  It could be ignition related. Easy to replace for the most part. Thank god it is outside of the column as if it were inside then it would not be easy
    • Because the CT5 ended up on Alpha platform instead of a short Omega, the Blackwing "doesn't fit" (doh).  The CT5-RV (really V) (or whatever) is expected to have the engine out of the CTS-V and the CT4-V the engine from the ATS-V now.   This story that people came in to buy CTS-V's or ATS-V's but thought it had too much power/performance seems unbelievable to me.  Wouldn't those people just buy a platinum model or Premium Lux model instead?

Good morning Mike. I've been searching in the forum about rich cold start. I have a 1993 Cadillac deville 4.9 v8. I've done maintenance. full tune up. Plugs, wires, cap and rotor. New EGR, and new PCV valve. Throttle body cleaned and air intakes (those were bad) checked the timing yesterday (at 24 degrees) don't know why but I'll bring it down. Cold start rough... too much fuel. Runs perfect after warm. Any suggestions about the rich cold start? Any info it would be much appreciated. thank you.

Hope it is as white as mine.
