Thanks Florin. Yep, I did say that about 600 posts ago, my word is worthless, I wrestle with quitting often. Its an obsession, I am sure. When does a love become an obsession?, keeps going through my mind. As many have seen, when some disgruntled new member states, get a life, etc, it racks me. I try to ignore those types of statements, because, I do have a life, but FIT this in. Being computer proficient makes my participation easier and less time consuming. However, when you go to the FSM, review the schematics for the ignition switch for an hour, for an arrogant, agenda driven troll, who says, I have no life and calls me gramps, I begin the process of moving away.

You love Scotty. I was recently referred to as GRAMPS, I think Scotty (along with my Deville,) cast me as older than I am. I thought it was time to update my image, that is the main thrust behind me going with an ETC or STS. While I might be old in some peoples minds if you look at the number, this morning I bench pressed 250 pounds declining 10 times for the first time, its all about conditioning. I sometimes get criticized for being focused on going to the gym and being concerned with health (how dare I at my age), their attitude is you are trying to be 22, you can't fight it, just get fit for a coffin. Lately I have been telling those doomers, I think of maintaining my body, like I think of maintaining my car, I am more efficient, my joints are stronger, I move easier and I have more energy. They usually shut up at that point. If they continue badgering me, I say, while I don't look 22 (God forbid), being in shape allows me to F like I am 22, and the discussion usually ends

Thanks, I do need to manage my time better however.. maybe the next time some new member gives me a hard time

Thanks, but I should not be singled out, we have a lot of experienced, knowledgable and helpful members here, many of whom, carry the guru's legacy in them better than I do. My sheer numbers are embarrisng to me, LOL... I like to think that we operate as a unit, like a team. If you have played sports, teams that operate as a cohesive unit win, not a bunch individual players looking out for themselves. The Celtics played like a team this year with good players stepping out of the spot light on some nights for the good of the team. I enjoy helping, thanks

I just can't believe that you have over 600 posts in less than a month. That is crazy man!

Is that all you do ?

Sit on Caddyinfo.com and answer everybody's questions?

Talk about being dedicated.

Anyway,I know I wouldn't be able to do that.

Another thing is that you are a lot of knowledge when it comes to Caddy's.

You should be called the "Guru".

Thanks again for your time.

BBF has patiently helped me time and time again, and I tell him every time that I appreciate it! This thread is really nice though, I definitely second everything you said.

WARNING: I'm a total car newbie, don't be surprised if I ask a stupid question! Just trying to learn.

Its because of guys like Mike that I still turn my own wrenches instead of handing my car over to the dealer. Guaranteed to have a response with direction and guidance on a problems along with a follow-up to see how things went.

Can't say that about a lot of folks. Need you to stick around for another 12,000+ posts. :P

As far as BBF compares himself with his Deville... There must be no problem with his lower balljoints. Look at those BBF's girlfriends in his avatar! :)

The saddest thing in life is wasted talent

If I am scanning the topics & see that Mike has posted, I will stop & read his post. Most of the time I will learn something. Or be reminded of something that I have forgotten! :o

I turned 60 in May. I started out in cars with generators (anyone remember A & B circuits?), positive & negative ground systems, 6, 8, & 12 volt systems. So, I have had the opportunity to forget a lot. :P

Keep up the good work Mike, you are a true asset to CaddyInfo! :hatsoff:

Yep, I remember the 8 volt systems.

You could put an 8 volt battery on a 6 volt car to get extra cranking speed/power from the 6 volt starter. Especially on old wore out Fords. :D I had a couple of THOSE. :D:D

You could replace the 6 volt generator and regulator with an 8 volt generator and regulator or tinker with the voltage regulator to allow the 6 volt generator to output more than 6 volts. :D

Then you had to watch for burned/sticking points on the regulator. :D Sometimes you had to put a piece of paper between the points, when you killed the engine...after you had run the regulator at 8 volts for too long.

Man... that was a LONG LONG time ago.

Thanks for the old memories. :D

If I remember correctly,

Caddy went to 12 volts in '53

Chevy went to 12 volts in '55

Ford didn't go to 12 volts till '56.

Thanks Britt, 60?!, in my mind I had you pegged for 30 - 35!... I just turned 55 a week ago... Thanks for the VOTE of confidence. All this public attention is embarrising..

I started out as a 6 year old rebuilding 54 Packard, 55 Fleetwood and 49 Mercury generators on the kitchen floor with my dad, I can clearly remember standing on a milk box looking over the fender on 46th street in Philadelphia.

You obviously are tired as YOU noted, I thought your statement was uncalled for. Its obvious you are not paying attention. When a person that shows the tenancity that I do says he wants out, you think its a matter of not me enjoying it anymore?.........Somone pointed out that I posted 600 times in a month, think about that for a moment, that is HALF the amount of posts YOU have in FOUR years. PLUS I work all day on my own work. Do you have a clue yet?, that is gets tiring dealing with AZZHOLES, its not a matter of enjoying or NOT enjoying, its a matter of getting TIRED and FED UP at times and needing a break, I thought that was CLEAR above. When was the last time someone told YOU to get a life?, called you GRAMPS, insulted YOU?, gave YOU a hard time? Sometimes I say, F this..

What are you tired and fed up about? And what AZZHOLES are you referring to?

You may be fed up but don't snap at me, particularly when I didn't intend to insult you. Actually, your point still isn't clear to me. You've been posting in a steady stream since you've been a member of Caddyinfo--That's the obvious part. Are you telling me that you've only now become fed up with dealing with people who post on Caddyinfo. Are you referring to having an addiction to Caddyinfo???

Sorry, don't mean to be ignorant here but your point isn't clear to me.

Mac, you are a supporter, as well, as I am ...

and, as we both know, life is a twisted be-och ...

and ,as for me, to be a supporter means that I got my fellow brothers backs ...

I don't think, that BBF, meant you any disrespect ...

And, I just wonder and hope, that if his head is hurting, that I might help ...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I probably, wouldn't be here, if not for him ...

And, I have no doubt, that he will restudy this, and reply accordingly...

And, as a an aside, if he tells me that I am an idiot, then I will probably agree ...

that being said, please don't think that I mean that as pertaining to anything

said on this particular thread or as to you ...
