WarrenJ
It took me nearly half the afternoon to stop laughing at the pettiness of this bit of deceitful packaging, but I finally settled down and took some deep breaths; one... two... three... took some pictures too. Okay, now I'm properly irked. Snicker. Sorry, I can't help it! At a 7 Eleven this afternoon I bought a turkey and cheese hero which appeared attractive enough in its cellophane packaging. Look at those luscious tomato slices sticking out! However, what was sticking out was about all there was to see. The sandwich supplier had craftily sliced the tomato just so. I'll bet he gets 20 sandwiches out of a single tomato. Yeah, I did write to complain. Now I know tomatoes are getting expensive, but can't they just raise the sandwich price a bit? This is the sort of underhandedness that causes me to take my business elsewhere. I HATE being conned. You?? EDIT: No I don't eat off the floor, the carpet is part of an antistatic work area. firefoot0315
Okay, that is funny. But yes, irksome and underhanded and unfortunate. But still funny. No matter where you go, there you are.
Cadillac Jim
If I had unwrapped a sandwich like that in the store I would have presented it to the clerk and asked for a refund. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. BodybyFisher
Wow what a ripoff, its probably more trouble to wrap a sandwich with slivers of tomatos than it is to use full size tomatos, they needed to go out of their way to do this.. Makes you wonder about whether they clean the coffee pots and how old the turkey is Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
ted tcb
Warren, I'm assuming your dining options were rather limited before you decided to make 7 Eleven your choice for a mid day meal? Good thing you didn't opt for mussels or sushi. Yes, that photo is a riot ... what could they have possibly saved, perhaps five cents per sandwich? 1989 FWD Fleetwood, Silver 1995 STS Crimson Pearl on Black leather 1997 STS Diamond White 1999 STS Crimson Pearl 2001 STS Silver 2003 STS, Crimson Pearl
Cadillac Jim
Has it occurred to you to send a link to the photos to the 7-Eleven HQ, or on the "Contact Me" form? You might include the date and time you bought the sub and the store number or address in the accompanying text message. A scan of the receipt would be good, too, if you had it. For a >really< good time, take a digital camera with video, or a cell phone, to the 7-Eleven with you, have a friend video everything: buy a similar sandwich, take it apart without a cut in the video stream, and show the sandwich to the camera. Then take great close-ups like the one you posted in your first post here with the still camera. Those, with a scan of the receipt (which will have the date, time, and store number, and be traceable to the purchase by 7-Eleven HQ), provide you with a great source of hours of entertainment. Anyone else game to buy a sub from a 7-Eleven and look at it, and see if this is more than in isolated event???? -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. KHE
Yes, that photo is a riot ... what could they have possibly saved, perhaps five cents per sandwich? I noticed they didn't skimp on the amount of bread....... That reminds me of the hamburger chain Burger Chef that has been out of business for almost 30 years. The bun dwarfed the hamburger patty and the running joke was the hamburger was hiding under the pickle slice... Cadillac Jim
Hmmm. Subway. Perhaps this kind of thing is why Subway and others let you watch your sandwich being made. Except I would not have "asked". I'd have demanded. I DO hope you sent those pictures with a strong letter to 7-11.

WarrenJ
Actually, this same thing happened to me several months ago. Maybe that's why I was so peeved when it happened a second time yesterday. If their sandwich supplier is in the habit of doing such harmless but annoying things, 7 Eleven should know about it. So, yes, I did contact them and linked to the photos you saw above. Speaking of tomatoes... "A little tomato who knows her onions can go out with an old potato and come home with a lot of lettuce and a couple of carats." Okay, you can start throwing the tomatoes now... I'll try to catch as many of those expensive things as possible. There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion.
