The Fred
Your insurance company I hope they paid for it.... ? Otherwise I was trying to take up a collection to ease your loss but I don't think many people were all that interested - still got my 20 when my checks come in if it helps at all MerryChristmas Be a Capitalist or work for one. FlamingGoatBalls
I was interested and I think its a good idea. If I wasnt looking at a few repairs \ paying off my college bills I would throw down on it too. Unfortunately as it stands I already owe my parents a couple thousand. I could probably be talked into $5 or $10 though.
WarrenJ
Sorry, I somehow missed this thread. Your efforts are appreciated, but happily unnecessary. It's swell to know folk think like this. Really! Thanks, Warren There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. WarrenJ
I want to know whats next ? is her name Deville or something pretty like that ? Michael That would likely be "Ms. Bigass DeVille" to you young Skywalker! Seriously, I've nearly given up on finding an Eldorado in the tri-state area. They're plentiful in Texas and Florida, but are not to be found here. Hospital trips in February, March, and April have left me without any sick/personal days. Bummer. Limits my searching abilities. Likely, I'll buy me a hold-me-over DeVille or a less-than-adequate Eldorado 'till I can find another like Baby. But it's an Eldorado I must have. And it must be pristine. The current rental, a 2006 Pacifica, is acceptable, but there is a "B" pillar immediately next to my left ear. Driving with the window down creates air turbulence I simply can't stomach. And I *need* to drive with the window down. A two door is mandatory. It's a freedom thing. Don't ask. Maybe a Concours or DTS? Maybe, but only as an interim ride. Oh, they're hard to find also. BodybyFisher
Warren, I thought about buying this car, but I am sure another will come along. Its not as nice as baby was, but for the right price, who knows. The interior looks like it needs the carpets cleaned and it has some dings. Its located in Massapequa Park. What bothers me about it is that I would sell a car with 90,000 miles on it and buy one with 144,000 miles, not really smart, plus I would have a hard time selling mine with the tranny code. The ad said new engine so I sent the seller this question: Hi, I am interested in who rebuilt the engine and was it time-serted? Thanks, Mike He responded with this: The engine was remanufactured by cadillac and was placed in the car 3 years ago. I have all the documentation from the company in Farmingdale that put Northstar engine it. It was certified by cadillac and was remanifactured by cadillac. (this did not answer my question, and it would be hard to bid without seeing the documentation he has). If in fact this was a replacement crate engine, that would be terrific... Here is the ebay ad: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...%3ARTQ%3AUS%3A1 I just thought you might be interested in seeing this... WarrenJ
Thanks mike, but I have the same issues as you, and then some. 144K? A little long in the tooth. Tranny recently serviced? Was it flushed . . . . OMG! Engine rebuilt by Cadillac? We all know that didn't happen! Thanks for your thoughts and please continue to keep me in mind. I've wasted too much time and need to move more quickly now; don't have time to wait out an auction. The Fred
Warren my STS will be ready soon and it isn't very expensive But it does have 117000 miles on it, don't know if that is too many or not Pictures http://affordablecarats.com/newseville/ And if you find one somewhere I can go out and have it looked over and drive it to you for a small fee (I know you said you can't find a good one in your area- well heck if you find one across the country I could go out there and take it around to mechanics for you and drive it to you) MerryChristmas Be a Capitalist or work for one.
