Recommended Posts

From the mailbag:

when i'm stopped at a red light and i have the A/C on i sometimes get a gas like smell that seems to come from the vents

any thoughts?

Car is a 1996 Deville. I don't have a clue on this one. Leaking FPR?

thats what I was thinking. If it still has the nylon rail it may have cracked. If not then check your fuel lines to see if anything is dripping.

I would not say FPR because that would not cause a leak externally unless the seal failed but havent heard of one yet.

GM FAN FOREVER

Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile

Well, dealer advice was to park the car outdoors away from dwellings until the fuel rail recall was completed.

real reassuring if you ask me

Really, that advice is lawyer-driven. If they didn't say that and your house caught fire, the customer's insurance company would go after GM.
