Spray it on...scrub gently with a soft bristled brush...hose it off. That's what I used as well. Unfortunately, it is very hard on the skin. You have to be very careful and wear rubber gloves. Recently I tried a tire cleaner from Dollar Tree. Worked very well and seemed to be much easier on skin. Just sprayed on the tires, cleaned the latter with a sponge and rinsed with water. Try, if you do not like it it is still $1.00 It is called "Street Appeal" tire and wheel cleaner. Be very careful to use a SOFT brush, over time the bleach white and a stiff brush will cause cracking in the white wall portion, spray it on and like the other poster said, use a soft brush or sponge. Upon doing my research, I discovered that Vogue tires are not the best tire, and I stayed with Michelin. dustincp Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Share Posted July 6, 2009 Its funny you said that, and the article you sent me proves this, the car I bought with the vogues on it had a vibration issue at 60 MPH, I told the dealership about and they had it corrected but did not tell me the problem, it was the tires after all. This is just my opinion, but...I would still use the tire shine, but I would apply it CAREFULLY, with a small sponge of paper towel and keep it off of the Gold and White stripes. On the ones I have had, I found that it seemed to make the Gold stripe get dull over time and the white stripe got harder and harder to keep really WHITE. I don't think I would use a scuff pad for regular cleaning. Maybe every once ina while ... if they were REAL dirty. Otherwise I would use a pretty soft brush or small sponge. The white wall on some of them that I have had was pretty easily to damage. Take into consideration...that was 15 years ago. I have used Michelins till I bought the DTS that I have now. Michelin don't make a decent tire to fit it. Yes, TexasJim has it all right, you can still use the tire shine, it just makes cleaning harder, and try to keep it off the white and gold parts. To the other posts, Vogue "tyres" are very heavy and have a tradwear rating of something like 600 or 800 (compared to 380-400 for most) so they CAN get a lot of miles out of them, but if you do any kind of :spirited" driving, the treadlife will deplete very rapidly. I miss the old michelin mxv4 smooth side white walls, looked great cleaned and shined (were standard on 97-99 devilles). Vogue also makes white wall and gold wall only (as well as blackwall), but the white/gold is it's hallmark. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The last few cars I have used Michelin "HYDRO EDGE"...the one they call the rain tire. Got excellent mileage from them and they were also pretty sticky. They use some kind of silica compound in the tread to make it wear well and also have some grip. They don't make them in a size to fit my DTS. Not much od a selection in 18 inch, and most of them are in the $200 to $300 range...EACH. SO... a new set...mounted, balanced, with road hazard and PLUS TAX...will set you back...roughly... from around $1,100 to around $1,500. Depending, of course, on what tire you get. I put two new ones on the front last fall. It is now time to replace the other two. It has crossed my mind to get some nice 17 inch rime and go with 17's with a larger aspect ratio. Maybe a 60 series...for a smoother ride. I know I would lose some cornering ability...but don't know how much. That is one thing that is stopping me from doing it. We all love our caddys even though they are known to have issues. I do think that they are worth the money. There are not too many cars that look good with vogues and we all have cars that qualify, I feel like they stand out above the crowd. When my tires wear out I will be replacing them with vogues. I saw a bottle of Vogue Tyre Cleaner at my local dealership for $30 and thought no way!!
