ted tcb
On my 99 STS, the red dash needles lit up against a black backround, and did a calibration dance on every ignition start up. My 2001 STS doesn't do this red needle sweep sweep ... it really looks cool as they race from the far right and back again. JasonA
My '01 doesn't do the sweep. I like the sweep. My brother's '99 C5 does that. It also says CORVETTE . . . BY CHEVROLET on the DIC. My '06 DTS does the needle sweep thing. Red needles against a black background with white lighting. ted tcb
So, I'm guessing they dropped it for perhaps 1 or 2 years across the entire lineup, and then brought it back. That sucks for those of us with 01's. 1989 FWD Fleetwood, Silver 1995 STS Crimson Pearl on Black leather 1997 STS Diamond White 1999 STS Crimson Pearl 2001 STS Silver 2003 STS, Crimson Pearl

It is a Denso 'reman' unit. No sweep. I personally like the sweep...bet alot of grandmothers don't..
