Göran W
Hi, all. Been a few years since my last post. Still have a pair of baby Cadillacs (Eldo + Seville -90). Today I have a problem that You may be able to solve for me? I bought a 1989 Cavalier Z24 convertible in nice condition but the age still takes its tribute. Need new "belt weather strips" for all four side windows. Not sure it´s the correct name for them? It´s the on on the outside that goes dirktly on the glass. Found the GM number for the ones in the doors (12360577 left side, 12360576 right side) but since the modell was never sold in Sweden there are no parts …… Been searching on the net but no luck. Very greatful if anyone can help me out! Göran W
Bruce Nunnally
Hi; glad to hear you are well. That part appears to be discontinued. I am not sure what the solution is although if you have the current one perhaps buying the raw gasket material would allow one to form an equivalent piece? Göran W
Hi Bruce and thanks for reply. Hmmm... Since it is a kind of ridgid rubber I don´t think it is possible to copy? As a last resort I may have to "steal" from some other model.
cdgrinci
I did a search and found (I remember this company): Steele Rubber. The had the '89 Caviler convertible listed. BodybyFisher
Ok I called and they only have the door seals. They recommended that I call Fairchild Industries. Based on a review of their web page searching for your car it is not promising. Here is their website https://fairchildindustries.com/automotive/ I will get a hold of a Hemmings Motor News tomorrow at a local book store and thumb through it to see if I can find anyone making replacement weatherstriping. Göran W
From the silence I take it You had no success? Does anyone know if for instance the Camaro had a simular profile?
BodybyFisher
Its not really silence, I am like a bird dog. I called Fairchild no help, I called JC Whitney (usually good for oddball stuff), no help, scoured the internet and came up with replacement part numbers and I continue researching that. I even contacted LMC truck who I recently purchased from for an 89 Chevy C1500 to see if they had any ideas on sources. http://www.lmctruck.com I have not found a Hemmings Motor News yet, but I am still on the case. Do you know if these weatherstrips are snapped in place or affixed with adhesive? You are on my To Do list. Will update as I progress. Göran W
Wow! I´ll wait for the "dog" (pointer?)😉 Meanwhile I´m scanning the net. I Think(!) they are held by the outside decor and maybe two screws.

I Think(!) they are held by the outside decor and maybe two screws. If that is the case, do a search here http://www.car-parts.com Use a zip codes in pennsylvania and arizona to start. You might find good used ones at a scrap yard. If they can't or won't ship internationally you can have it shipped to me and Ill ship it. I am a setter, not a pointer 😉😉 Setter, a gentle but at times strong-willed, mischievous gun dog, bred for a mix of endurance and athleticism, it is used to hunt for game such as quail, pheasant, weatherstriping and grouse. When working, the dog will hunt methodically seeking the airborne scent of its prey or rubber weatherstriping, 😀 Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
