Texas Jim
We came on to Seattle and met Shanin and Pat...some more of our Internet friends... They treated us to dinner at a real upscale seafood place right on the edge of Puget Sound. I don't know a lot about seafood... I am more of a steak and taters guy... I had to keep asking them... "What is this??" They are both real nice people. I am glad we got to meet them. . . Pics of the eating place and the food... . . . . Shanin's London Broil... . . . . Darling Wife's Alder Planked silver salmon with Oregon bay shrimp, seasoned with citrus butter on a bed of rice. ( I had the same thing) Pretty good eatin'... . . Texas Jim
Good evening boys and girls.... Here is the update for today... I hope I am not boring too many of y'all with the pics and commentary... Today we made an Odyssey to Mt Rainier... it was way too far to go back to Mt St. Helens... We left Seattle went down the West side and entered the park on the SW corner.... Then we went all the way across the bottom and come back up the East side and then back NW to Seattle... There was around 150/175 miles of really crooked road.... I don't think there is a level place in the whole park more than 50 feet long... This was a real mild curve... most of it is a lot worse. I took the picture for the greenery... not for the curve. The greenery there is amazing. Sometimes you are driving thru a green tunnel... the limbs of the trees touch over the road. . . Texas Jim
Another update... We didn't do much today.... just a short drive from Missoula up to East Glacier Park... Only a couple of hundred miles... We did see this Tribute to the railroad guys for building the railroad across the mountains... Before the railroad there was no way to get from one side of the mountains to the other except by foot or horseback. There were no roads yet... . . . .
