Bruce Nunnally
Always interested in pics of your trips. Try to get the DTS in frame, or some local Cadillac. Have a safe trip, and remember to mention what state you are in and how much the bail is if you call. JimD
Stay informed about the Colorado wildfire situation and possibly rethink your return route if that route included the front range (I-25). One news source reported today that as many as 35,000 folks have been relocated. You can expect that hotel/motel vacancies will be non-existent in affected areas. And then there is the possibilty of road closures due to low visiblity and/or movment of emergency personnel/equipment. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! Texas Jim
I apoligize for no updates yet... I had no internet last night, but I do have a bunch of pics to post. Today was pretty hectic... I drove over 600 miles today with an hour and a half stop for a late breakfast with a friend from Albuquerque... Now it is Midnight and I need to get a couple hours sleep before heading out in the morning. I will get-r-done tomorrow evening. Y'all will probably get tired of the pics before I am thru... Texas Jim
OK... I finally haz interwebz, so I will post a couple of pics and an update... We left Ft Worth Wednesday morning at 10 am central time heading for Tucumcari NM. Except for getting acquainted with the Police Chief of Esteline TX... everything went OK... He got me at 20 over the speed limit as I came into his town... After talking to him for a bit... he gave me a $50 dollar ticket for a dirty license plate instead of a $300 ticket for speeding... We stayed at an old motel on the old Route 66 in Tucumcari. It was built in 1939 and has been in continuous operation ever since. It is on the register of Historic Places... Met a bunch of nice people there. . . . . . . . . Texas Jim
Left Albuquerque and headed to Seligman Arizona... That is about 600 miles (more or less) from where we started at Tucumcari New Mexico... We made a quick detour thru Flagstaff... Here is an old hotel and a REALLY OLD church. The pink stone made it very unusual looking... . . . . . .

Texas Jim
Now I will try to give an update on day three... Had a good time today... drove from Seligman AZ to Kingman AZ on Old Route 66... But first we had to have breakfast... They served us enough food to feed 5 or 6 people... I hate to admit it, but we left more than we ate... and I was hungry... If you are ever in Seligman AZ... You are doing yourself a GREAT BIG dis-service, if you don't go eat at Westside Lilo's cafe... . . A couple of pics of the inside of the cafe... . . . . . . Texas Jim
Then we headed on down the road... The first several miles it was a really good road and there was almost no traffic... you wouldn't even see another car for sometimes fifteen minutes at a time.... . . . . . .
