How I log in to Caddyinfo each time I return

Recommended Posts

I am not sure how you all come on to caddyinfo, but I thought I would share my method and how I make it convenient.

I log on to caddyinfo normally, with IE9 saving my password, then I click VIEW NEW CONTENT, and I go to all of the new content that occurs since my last log on.

Then, I go to the link that is being displayed in the address line above, highlight it and copy it,

Then I go to my desktop, and right click, NEW, SHORTCUT, and I paste the address I just copied into "Type the location of the item"

and click NEXT, then I type Caddyinfo in "Type a Name for this shortcut" and click finish... then

I drag that caddyinfo shortcut from my desktop to the quickstart area next to the START BUTTON... Note, you may need to unlock the shortcut taskbar to widen it if you can not see it or drag to it....

Then, everytime I click that easily accessible, caddyinfo shortcut, IE immediatly launches me a new page with all of the NEW POSTS quickly on my screen. Once I am there, I can continue to click View New Content, to keep me up to date.

I hope this is helpful, and that I just didn't state the obvious,:D I can hear it new " duh, that is obvious, Mike", but if its not I hope its helpful, I think its cool and the shortcut saves me time getting to where I want to be with on clickerooo.

If you have any ideas or tips I would love to hear them. Like, what do you all know about active data on your desk top is that RSS feeds? Does anyone use RSS and is it something that can be a time saver?

Thanks, Mike

I use Firefox but I had the same problem once. The issue was a security setting in the browser, in which "Delete all logon cookies on exit" was checked. I unchecked that and all was well. The only other thing I can think of is that "forever" is not selected as the logon duration.

In the upper right corner there is a "Today's" link; I use that a lot. "View new content" shows stuff that has changed since your last visit. If I visit CaddyInfo, read the 1st cool article, then zoom off to research something and come back and post about that, then wander off, "View new Content" will show me stuff that has changed since my visit, but it won't show me items 3 4, 5 that were 'new' on my previous visit and I forgot to read. "Today's" shows any articles that are active, which I think means activity in the last 24 hrs regardless of whether I have read them or not.

Two different things, each useful in different situations.

Actually, I don't have a problem logging in at all

My first log in of the day, I set up a shortcut in the quick start link to go right into caddyinfo's "view new content" page, and I get all new posts with one click. That is what I was trying to say, but I probably was not being clear

From that point on during the day, I just leave that window open and click "view new content" or, if I closed the caddyinfo page, I just click my caddyinfo shortcut to the "view new content" and get all new posts.

I hope that is clearer

I don't know if this will work for you, but try this and see if this works, you are performing multiple actions, clicking this link, is a one click action and it takes you to View New Content. You can create a shortcut and pull that shortcut down to the quick launch area next to the start button and just click THAT link to with one click get to the View New Content.

Here is the link, click it and see what I mean,

That does work... takes me straight to the "View New Content" page...

I just like the "Main Forum" page better... :D :D

Reckon it's all in what we are used to doing/seeing....

Oh good! That is what I have been trying to share here! I agree, its what you are used to, and that is ok, I wanted to share what I do.

Now, who knows about RSS feeds? Can they be helpful?

RSS feeds are kinda cool... but no more active than the forum is... I wouldn't foresee tham as being much benefit to very many people...
