kurtflaitz Posted October 6, 2008 Report Share Posted October 6, 2008 I found another 1998 STS with 113k with everything but the sunroof for $1900 The car is not running right. The guy hooked it up to a computer and it said misfire in the first cylinder. He thinks it might be plugs and wires or a fuel injector. He claims the pugs and wires are original. He needs money to put tires on his jeep for winter. What should I do? The car is an hour and a half away from me whats should I do. A used car with 100K+ miles in uncertain condition is worthless, because you can't trust to drive it, and would need to invest an uncertain amount of money to keep it running. I think you should slow down, look for the right Cadillac, and make sure you KNOW the condition and history of the car before you buy. Im not that much older than you (25) and I know how your feeling. But trust me if you sit back, take your time, look on the web and in the classifieds, you will find some incredible deals on some really nice used cars considering Bush has the economy totally out of wack and gas prices are through the roof. I was in a similar situation as you a few weeks ago when my Parents told me they would match whatever I came up with to buy a new car. I looked at 10-15 different STS's and wanted to buy every one I looked at but my Dad kept telling me to keep looking and boy am I happy I did! I found my 2000 STS with 60,000 miles for $4,995 plus got $2,500 in trade for my 97 Expedition! I got a fine automobile with way less miles than the other STS's I looked at and for less money! Only ended up costing me $1500 bucks out of pocket plus got rid of my gas hogging truck which had a failing transmission and a horrible rod knock! Hello Cadillac!!
