Laracroft78
Hi, I'm neewbie, I'm Italian and I have a Cadillac deville year 1967. So I know that in year 1967 cadillac has a 429 c.i. engine, but my 1967 cadillac Deville has a 472 c.i. That is possible? My deville is never been restored and the engine is the original...! I need infos! About you it is possible that my 1967 Deville had already a 472 c.i. engine? Please let me know! Thanks my firends!

BodybyFisher
I had a 64, 65, 66 and 68, and as far as I know the 67 had a 429 and the 68 had a 472. See this site, the 429 is stated in the 1967 writeup http://motorera.com/cadillac/cad1960/CAD67.HTM You will notice in the writeup of 1968 that they refer to the 472 as a new engine, here is the wording 1968 spotlight was on motive power: an all-new 7.7 Liter V-8 with 375 bhp. Here is the link to 68 http://motorera.com/cadillac/cad1960/CAD68.HTM I am not sure how you could have a 472 unless somehow you have a 67 1/2, but I am not sure if that occurred. What makes you think that someone didnt put a 472 in your 67? Göran W
Maybe an issue of registration date? Check the VIN-number as mentioned earlier!!!
KHE
The 472 was introduced for the 1968 model year. The 1968 models were introduced in the fall of 1967. The car could be a 1968 or if it is in fact a 1967, someone put a 472 in it at some point.
