BodybyFisher
Yes, but does his urine contain Dexcool? I'm good to go! (I'm changing it tomorrow, it bothered me immediatly, but now I know it is 3/8" and it only cost me $0.75). I know myself, I will be on 95 south at 2 AM worrying about this hose ballooning, Hey, but I can see my coolant passing by, my bolt with a hole in it is flowing! Ok Britt, what do you think about me putting one of these or something like it in line, so I can see my Flooooooo? <a href="http://www.allthermalcontrols.com/page137.html" target="_blank">http://www.allthermalcontrols.com/page137.html</a> Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
KHE
I would bet the parts counter guy thought it was for a traditional overflow tank and not a pressurized surge tank - even though you told him. BodybyFisher
I would bet the parts counter guy thought it was for a traditional overflow tank and not a pressurized surge tank - even though you told him. I am not sure about that, I said its under pressure and he said, oh its only 15 psi.. I think in concept this is a cool idea to be able to see the coolant flow, I just don't think that this hose is made for the heat OR the pressure. It would blow, I'm changing it today. BodybyFisher
Yep, I said I was going to change that clear hose didn't I? I didn't... Well don't say you told me so guys, Don't call me an idiot, please Today, I needed to go to New Jersey, and I was on the cross bronx expressway in bumper to bumber traffic and I got a low coolant message, and my temp was 240. I was surrounded by 18 wheelers, got free and got over the George Washington Bridge, pulled on to a side street and, the hose had burst.... luckily i had the old hose in the trunk, and a gallon of Dexcool and tools.. The correct hose is on now, I called the parts place and he COULD NOT believe it burst, amazing, I was stupid for not changing it, but it slipped my mind.. it could have been worse, I GUESS. Well, that validation did not go too good, , at least I admitted my stupidity publically, Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

BodybyFisher
I used a razor knife to slit my purge hose longways. As you can see, now I see why I was loosing coolant from this small hose, internally it had broken apart. I overlooked this hose because I thought it might be a 'formed' hose but it was not. I now need to look at the hoses near the throttle body, they are probably also in the same shape.. These are 3/8" reinforced hoses Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
gsuploader
Wow what a terrific site. I have a 97 Deville and I fear it is manifesting the leaking Head Gasket issues. I had thought this because of increasing coolant loss but upon close inspection found a tiny slit int he lower radiator hose. SO I have spent 60 bucks on a new hose but need to replace the thermostat seal as it has become distorted. It looked like whoever changed out the thermostat had messed up and pinched the seal but I now think it has swollen due to pertroleum byproducts in the coolant. It looks a bit like the ones in the picture that you show here the shot up the goosneck I mean. I love this car It and the song Radar Love were made for each other.
