BodybyFisher
Ok, I put together my new IKEA glass top coffee table. Easy to put together, sturdy, and nice except that I don't expect the glass to survive long. Luckily they sell replacement glass, maybe I should buy a replacement now, . I find this glass top table a good place to keep an eye on my 91 and 96 Factory Service Manuals while I lay on the couch contemplating my most recent mechanical glitch. Yes I know, women will think, hey they can go in the bookcase!, and that's true. BUT, then I would have to walk across the room!, what a more perfect place for them while I lounge on the couch hot coffee nearby, posting to Caddyinfo on my laptop! Now if I could only get Natuzzi Leather to design seats like that couch for my Deville! My Deville would give new meaning to, "At 80, it feels like I am sitting in my living room". JimD
Now if you get the glass etched with the Cadillac crest that would be a good fit? Great idea, Bruce. And etching can be a DIY project for those with the steady hands and patience to trace and cut a pattern. Texas Jim
That couch sure looks comfortable. If it was botton tufted, it would be kinda like the seats in my old '78 El Dorado Biarritz or the '84 Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegence. Those seats sure did sit nice. BodybyFisher
Now if you get the glass etched with the Cadillac crest that would be a good fit? Hmm, I wonder if etching the glass would weaken it? JimD
It sure will weaken the glass. The process removes material. Not necessarily a problem until you expose the glass to some kind of erotic "unintended" load conditions. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! JimD
Jim, you avatar shows your car covered in snow, that can't be Hotlanta, was that during your trip north? Not in Hotlanta; we get ice here, not snow! That picture was taken near Ann Arbor, MI, on 1/2/08 after a snowfall that started around 10:00 PM on 12/31/07 and totalled 14" over 36 hours. My Seville needs 4+ inches of ground clearance so I was grounded until the roads were passable. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
