Maurice Gagnon
Hello all, I have a problem with my 1995 Caddy Seville radio. All of a sudden it wont come on. Antenna goes up and down but that's it. Worked fine until one day I started can and nothing. Anyone have a clue what it could be? Oh and I did check the fuse in the trunk area. rockfangd
Welcome to CaddyInfo. It sounds to me like your radio may be faulty. Can you be a little more specific as to which one you have. Is it cassette and cd or just cassette? If cassette what happens when you hit play button? Is display dead? sound of any kind? winterset
Disconnect the ground terminal at the battery, count to 20, then connect it again. sometimes a component other than the radio that is on the cars data bus prevents the radio from working properly. historically this has fixed it. either way, let us know the results as this can help others with your issue/symptoms. It is just the stock AM/FM Cassette and nothing happens when any button is pushed

rockfangd
Ok keep us posted. I am curious as I don't know if the 95 is powered by datalink or like the older ones that had a key+ at the radio. I cannot seem to get wiring diagrams anymore so that is not much help. If it is datalink I lean more toward a battery reset solution. If it does have a key+ to the radio I would be checking Radio fuses Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
Logan
I think the 1995 was the last year of that version. It's not really a radio....it's just a head unit....it needs the amp too. So it may look like a self contained GM style radio....but it's just a head unit. But should be pretty easy to replace. I guess it is 25 years old..so it may simply have died. Be aware there are 'Bose' versions too....can't remember if those would be plug n play. sonjaab
The am/fm/cass in my 93 was DOA when i bought it. I just swapped in a am/fm/cd delco unit i had on the shelf. Saved a lot of hassle and $pendy repair of the old unit.
