On the bottom of the schedule, it says "Times certain. All sessions to start and end on time." Possibly a media contract... Event web page, where you can get links to live streaming video, results, and all that, is here: http://world-challenge.com/race/2016-03-03-cota/ As Bruce explained in a recent Cadillac Chat, Michael Cooper will join Jimmy O'Connell as a driver in the Perelli World Challenge series, replacing Andy Pilgrim. As Bruce pointed out, this is the Mike Cooper that showed up at the Cadillac Challenge, 20 years old, and outperformed all the other non-pro drivers in a BMW brought to beat the new 2nd generation CTS-V. According to the performance car blogs, Bob Lutz and Cadillac never lost touch with Cooper, and the current arrangement is a result of that. GT/GTA/GT Cup testing is scheduled for Thursday at 10:30 AM for an hour and ten minutes. I don't know how much video there will be of the Cadillacs, or how interesting it will be. There is a "LUNCH & Pirelli World Challenge - OEM Hot Laps/ Media Day Ride Alongs" event at 1:00 PM for an hour that is highlighted in red on the schedule, and it starts 20 minutes after the GT/GTA/GT Cup testing time slot ends; I suspect that this will have highlights of the testing. The testing sessions may be a good place to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the different cars as the racing is about to begin. Friday at 11:30 AM the GT/GTA/GT Cup has an hour of practice. This is followed by another red-highlighted event, "LUNCH and OEM Hot Laps" I would hope that they would have some lap times from the practice sessions. Saturday they have GT/GTA/GT Cup qualifying in two groups. The first runs (for Group 2) from 9:45 AM to 10:25 AM (40 minutes), the second (for Group 1) from 10:30 AM to 10:55 AM (25 minutes). Here, everybody has a few laps to establish their position in the starting line-up. Often this is the first time in an event that the fastest cars will actually focus on doing well throughout each lap. Race #1 for GT/GTA/GT Cup is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM on Saturday and run for an hour. This is the first really thorough wring-out for the new ATS-VR. Race #2 for GT/GTA/GT Cup is scheduled to begin at 2:15 PM on Sunday and run for an hour. If Cadillac and their drivers have any points at the end of the day, it bodes well for yet another Cadillac manufacturer's championship and driver championship. airmike Posted February 17, 2016 Report Share Posted February 17, 2016 When I went to Barret Jackson a couple weeks ago, they had Johnny O'Connell there driving the cts'v that I was going to ride in, but it needed a rest when my turn came and I didn't get to ride or meet him.
