BostonCab
Wife's car is a 2003 Deville DHS. I hate this car. Anyway was stalling had check engine light brought it to the mechanic and they diagnosed it as CAM shaft position sensor and recommended we replace both. Job done car ran ok for a couple of days and now the problem has resurfaced. I pulled all the codes from the dash and they are listed below. Any assistance on how to get this thing not to stall anymore would be appreciated! JimD
....Anyway was stalling had check engine light brought it to the mechanic and they diagnosed it as CAM shaft position sensor and recommended we replace both. The is only one camshaft position sensor. I pulled all the codes from the dash and they are listed below. You have several modules reporting code B1327 which translates to "Vehicle system voltage below 9.0 volts". B1327 exists because 9 Volts is a critical voltage level for the internal operation of some (most?) modules. When the system voltage drops below 9 Volts, various modules can and will set codes that are false. In other words, your code list contains errors. Unless you have already done so, diagnosis of B1327 is your first step. Failed battery, discharged battery, failing alternator are a few possibilities. Then you can clear all the codes and take a test drive. When/if the engine stalls, immediately pull off the road without starting the engine and display the codes again. Report all "P" codes here. KHE
My guess is the crankshaft position sensors were replaced, not the cam sensors. Quote Kevin '93 Fleetwood Brougham '05 Deville '04 Deville 2013 Silverado Z71
BodybyFisher
You are getting this code, along with the B1327 P0621 - Generator L-Terminal Circuit Are you having difficulty starting or is the battery going dead? BostonCab
You are getting this code, along with the B1327 P0621 - Generator L-Terminal Circuit Are you having difficulty starting or is the battery going dead? No the battery has not gone dead nor is it giving us starting troubles. It actually runs fine until.. it stalls occasionally. The stall conditions are too random to pinpoint. HJE is correct in what was replaced. I do not know how I could have made that mistake. Does anyone else have an idea on what may be causing the low voltage or ideas on how to test what and where the fail is? Do I put a volt meter on the battery? Alternator? What? BodybyFisher
Have the battery load tested to be SURE its good, a weak battery can cause big problems and throw random codes. Also clean the battery cable connections Quote Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

Also clean the battery cable connections this (or the battery) though it could be a lot of places where connections or 'grounds' occur. I recently did the system reset but disconnecting the battery under the back seat and the cables looked perfect. What else?
BodybyFisher
As I said, have the battery load tested that is where YOU must begin, you MUST eliminate the possibility that your battery has a short or dead cell, that is the FIRST stop, do not pass go, do not collect $200, check the battery at a sears, LOAD TEST, then we can go on from there, which will be to diagnose the P code above regarding the alternator, THAT must be eliminated and is probably the cause of your low power Quote Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

My fuel guage has been screwed up for quite some time. Could that be causing the electrical fault?
BodybyFisher
not sure what you mean by screwed up, but if you mean inaccurate, that is a common problem sometimes cured by using Techron which cleans the fuel level sensor contacts If you had a fuel gage problem you would have a code You are showing these P or powertrain codes, two are due to power and on for the L-terminal in the alternator. Was the alternator replaced recently?, aftermarket alternators are a no no if it was PCM PO463 CURRENT PCM PO507 HISTORY PCM PO621 HISTORY You have a lot of Network codes or U codes. A bad battery or interrupted power delivery anywhere in the chain will cause havok with these cars. You need to find a reputible shop to load test your battery, you need to look at battery connections at the battery, especially the positive cable that is a sandwidge of 2 cables and needs to be disassembled, and check grounds. Floyd G
Easy Fix not what you think !! I had the exact same problems and codes your experiencing!! Your problem is some type of foreign object in the gas tank (a paper product like a label from an additive or something similar) is usually the culprit as paper products do not break down in gasoline. This is causing the stalling and the electrical issues as well Run all the fuel out u possibly can your car probly stalls more often when fuel levels are low. Then use the trunk access panel pull fuel pump and inspect tank and pump thoroughly I promise you this is the root of your problems. This is causing the drain on your battery which over time will cause it to fall below the required 9 volts due to all the extra work the pump has had to do. May need replaced! Good luck and hopefully your opinion of your Cadillac will change after fixing ur problem. As the dhs is an awesome car and rides like a dream
