hjb981
This is obviously not really a question, but I am just so outright angry and sad right now. Some idiot(s), best described by words not appropriate to write here, made some quite visible dents on the hood by throwing stuff on it when it was parked. The chances of finding the perpetrator(s) are of course minimal. I work hard to keep this car in nice condition year round - and now this! While it is a car that is used as a daily driver, and thus not in perfect showroom condition, I do take pride in driving it, caring for it and keeping it nice. I am sure all people here can relate to that... Unfortunately, there are people who think that it is OK to destroy other people's property just because they are having a party. It is just sad that such idiots exist.
JimD
Such people live among us. Several years ago some lowlife destroyed door windows in about 15 cars (including mine) parked outdoors at a hotel. He/they were clever enough to crawl through the broken window rather than lift the door lock and open the door. Law enforcement could do no nothing. Your experience will be nothing more than an (expensive) memory in a few months. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
adallak
Anger is not going to do any good to you. Just think of it as if a tree fell on the hood, but fortunately missed the windshield. Hopefully, another tree will fall on the car of those bastards. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent

hjb981
Thank you for the support. You're right adallak, being angry won't help anything, but it still feels worse when I know someone did this on purpose.

If the dents are not too bad... try one of the PAINTLESS DENT REPAIR places. Some of them do really good work and you don't have to repaint. btx5mg
Sorry to hear about this, hope you can get it sorted out, and the perps one day know what it feels like to have your pride and joy vandalized. Best of luck

You're right adallak, being angry won't help anything, but it still feels worse when I know someone did this on purpose. Right, but again - what happened happened, now you have to just do the damage control. Just think this way "You bastards wanted me to be angry over this for two weeks? Screw you! I am not angry at all, and I'll see you escorted to jail some day". I love your avatar! The saddest thing in life is wasted talent
hjb981
Thanks! It's nice to see that you like my avatar. And I am happy that they at least left that part of the car alone. Texas Jim, I hope I will be able to fix it without having to repaint it. One of the dents has an angle at the bottom, and that one may be a bit harder to fix, but who knows.. I will start checking out options on Monday. Insurance will luckily put a cap on the costs for me if it turns out to be very hard to fix, but I prefer to fix it without repainting everything for such a stupid thing. And I don't like having to leave my car somewhere to have it fixed - I prefer to have it done while I wait if I have to have something done on it. BodybyFisher
Good luck with this, it would be nice if someone saw what happened so that you could extract a pound of flesh or at least the cost of repairs from them. cadillacjeff7777
I had my SLS broken into about 8 years ago. I came out and they had smashed one of the back windows. They stole a 6 y.o. laptop that was broken. What they failed to find was the brand new xbox on the floor, the brand new dell laptop that cost $3,500 and the brand new $4,000 Alienware laptop. Both laptops were in the trunk. I was certainly glad that they only got a broken laptop. 2008 DTS

Texas Jim
Darn... everybody is having trouble with vandals and thieves... My truck was recently broken into.. in my OWN DRIVEWAY. They broke the drivers side window and the windshield and stole my HP widescreen laptop that was only a few months old. It was 3am in the morning... I jumped up, grabbed my pants and Colt .45 and ran to the driveway... but the sorry, lowdown, scum sucking *&%#@*'s were already gone. I HATE THIEVES AND VANDALS. I HOPE THEY BURN AND ROT IN HELL. hjb981
I am really sorry to hear that several others on the forum also had problems with thieves and vandals... One lesson seems to be to never leave anything visible. Even if it has no value, someone could think it does and break a window on your car for it. Texas Jim, do you have one of those lights that automatically turns on when someone goes onto your driveway?

Texas Jim, do you have one of those lights that automatically turns on when someone goes onto your driveway? Better than that... I have a LARGE Mercury Vapor light mounted on the front of my garage over the garage door. It has a photocell that automatically turns it on when it starts getting dark and turns itself off at daylight. They were in bright light the whole time they were breaking the windows of the truck and getting the laptop. If I could have caught them... that would have been the LAST THING they ever stole.
