Upcoming road trip

Recommended Posts

Have fun, Bruce.

You can knock an hour or more off the KEY-ON time by taking I-30 to I-55 to I-57 to I-70.

Gas up in Marion, AR (just north of West Memphis) and you will be good on fuel to Terra Haute, IN. You do not want to buy fuel in south Illinois!

Have a safe trip

Bruce, I am looking for a game that I can play on my local network, not internet, one on one with my daughter, her in one room, me in the next. This used to be possible in the 90s. A race car game or a FPS.. Keep your eyes open for me.

maps.google.com suggests that route is 50 miles longer; is there a problem with I44 vs I30?

This convention is more about role-playing games, but I'll keep my eye out. Meanwhile this site: http://www.network-games-collection.com/ has some links to freeware lan games. I have not d/l'd any to try but they appear to be the type of thing you are looking for.

The problem is getting to I-44. US 75 is not exactly up to Interstate standards in parts of eastern Oklahoma. Two lane travel, traffic lights, law enforcement with no sense of humor....

I agree with JimD about US75.

I would go a good distance out of the way to avoid US75.

I have also contributed to the policeman's fund when using US75. :wipetears

actually the first route selected is US69. US75 starts in McCallister Ok an goes north straight into Tulsa. But US69 is still a very bad choice. Also watch for a lot of road constrution between Little Rock Ark and Memphis.

We took the 'southern' route through Little Rock. Plenty of construction along the way, but all in all a good drive and we arrived on schedule. Bit of a thunderstorm on the way made it dicey for a bit, but traffic slowed and we came through it in 30 min or so.

As always the CTS did great on the road, at just over 26 mpg with 4 adults and luggage in 100F+ heat and A/C running the whole way.
