Yesterday's Treat

Recommended Posts

My friend come over to go out to lunch yesterday and he had his 06 Corvette. When it first came out I was not thrilled with the look, but I really like it now. He has nad the Stage one modification done to it, that included intake, mufflers and dynotune. It sounds mean.. I made him a CD for his trip home and it sounded great...

Hopefully Santa will put one of these under my tree.. yea right

I never did much care for the looks of the Corvette, any body style. The 50's C1 look, the C2 Sting Ray from 1963 through 1967 model years with fenders that precluded decent tires, and "Mako Shark" body style of the C3 from 1968 through 1982 (the 1983 model year is truly wierd, with only one or two certified to exist), the bland C4, and the raked jelly-bean car look of the C5 are all striking, but I don't find the body styles attractive -- but the chassis and running gear is another matter. My 1966 big-block coupe, once I put the "off-road" suspension on it myself, was definitely a world-class handler for a street car, even with the street Michelin X tires that I could get under those Sting Ray fenders on the factory knock-off aluminum 6-inch by 15-inch rims.

I would love to have one of the 428 cid "427" Z06 Corvettes as a pet.

The guy that ownes Zip Corvettes here in Richmond has one of the TWO ZL1's made in 1969, way bad and priceless. I may have the date wrong but its one of two for sure.

I am not as excited about the look of the current C6 corvette as I was about the previous C5 corvette, but you gotta love the hardware. For the money for a sports car, the modern Corvette is a great buy.

I agree. I wouldn't turn it down thats for sure. Navigation system, Bose, LS4 with Phase 1 mod. Keyless entry and start. What I don't like is the tire noise, but I would get over that very easily LOL...

I wish they had kept the flip up headlights it looks like a Viper, but a Vette's a Vette can't go but so wrong :P last one I rode in was a C4 an it was like a buck board  may have just been dead shocks. But for the money a Vette or a Viper is a heck of a deal

I have a 69 Corvette with the 350/300 automatic. Yes, it rides like a buckboard and it is hard to get out of, I have to roll out of it. But, I love the attention I get when I drive it. My wife bought it and we showed it for about 4 years then decided to just start driving it because the stress cracks were starting to get noticed at the car shows. One day my wife was driving it and it quit on her, so I came out and scraped the points and all was well. My wife lost confidence in it after that and would not drive it. It sat for about a year and I finally decided to take it out and the brakes were spongy. I had it looked at and 3 of the 4 wheel cylinders were leaking. So I brought it home and put it in the garage where it has been sitting for the last 8 years. My wife lost interest in driving it but did not want to sell it and the kids came along and I did not have time to fix it. Every year when I go to a car show I want so bad to work on it and drive it again. Maybe when my girls get old enough we can work on it together.
