BodybyFisher
I personally think AC is a dump, but that's me, I never liked it, and I lived in Philadelphia most of my life. I spent the first 22 summers of my life in Wildwood, NJ. We can meet in AC however, there is plenty to do.. I will look to see what is going on in AC maybe we can see something interesting while we are there. stsjoe
I agree Mike, if you get off the main drag AC and Vegas are pretty bad (AC a bit more ) but there is a lot to do (gamble) and group rates are usually pretty good, food good, may be worth a shot. mmarinov
The wife and I are planning a trip to NYC/The Island this September. Of course the timeline could be adjusted I suppose; it's purely to get away for a few days. We wouldn't be driving, especially with the coupe; but at least we would be able to participate. I'd bring photos Mark Quote 2007 DTS Performance - 50K As a matter of fact, I am driving 70 MPH in a phone booth. blakkwidow
I'd definitely go to a meet up in AC. I'm dragged there on a monthly basis w/ my gambling addict bf so for once, I'd have something to do besides sit in the hotel rm. (not that my opinion matters much considering I'm so new ) Quote Blue Chip CTS - 3.6l, 20% tints, 20" Venti V56 rims

buck7
Cannonball run, or Cadillac 5,000, all the way to Cali. Hehe how many members do we have again?
Cadillac Jim
As I recall, in the original Cannonball Run, someone who was driving a Cadillac from NY to LA as a paid service for an unwitting owner came in about 3rd. Apparently the owner never saw the article or recognized his car. The winner was a minivan full of gas cans and a sleeping bag. Brock Yates came in the top 5, in a Ferrari or other exotic and was quoted as saying "We never got over 175 mph." I'd rather just drive legally to Atlantic City, about an hour from here, and have a nice luncheon meeting with talks and presentations, outdoor photo-ops with other members and their Cadillacs, a no-host bar party and dinner with Cadyinfo people, ending the evening with a IMAX show or casino musical, and a legal drive home. The wife would go for that plan, I believe. JimHare
As I recall, in the original Cannonball Run, someone who was driving a Cadillac from NY to LA as a paid service for an unwitting owner came in about 3rd. Actually, I think it was a stock, plain old Coupe or Sedan DeVille that actually won the first one - I remember reading the article in C&D (I had a sub from the mid-60s to the late 80s). They ascribed the first place finish to the fact that the Caddy blended in with the rest of the scenery, and even if it didn't have the spot top-speed of the more exotic cars, it never got ticketed either. A big gas tank and plenty of room in the back to throw the food garbage helped, if I recall. We're talkin' about '69 or '70 or so here, I think...if I remember...... Oh, and back on topic - We're up for anything in the S. Jersey/Delaware Valley area - Since I lived outside of AC for about 15 years, I know my way around there..not that there's much to know - but there are some nice areas within ten or so miles that your typical visitor doesn't know about.... Cadillac Jim
From http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Featu...rticleId=117576 we have But as the November 15, 1971 start date approached, lots of those entries dropped out. Yates was left with eight, including three vans — one driven by the Polish Racing Drivers of America — plus a huge Travco motor home, an American Motors AMX, an MGB GT and a Cadillac Sedan de Ville, driven by three guys from Boston who had answered a classified ad placed by the Cadillac's elderly owner: he needed someone to deliver the Cadillac to California, but insisted the car not be driven over 75 mph, or in the dark. The Cadillac finished 3rd, average speed 79.3 mph, including stops totaling three hours and 15 minutes. Dan Gurney and Brock Yates won in a Ferrari. The Polish Racing Drivers' Association van came in about an hour later. No information on how much later the Cadillac came in. gygmy
I've made this sugestion before but a really nice place to have a meet would be at Lime Rock. I went to the races there this last Memorial Day. It is an easy drive from the NY NJ area. They have free camping. They have a liberal policy concerning heavy partying. You can have your own car corral. When you look up scenic in the dictionary they have a picture of this place. Race cars pop wheelies going up hill. You can walk the whole track and watch the race from whereever you please. You can go into the paddock and talk to the techs and the drivers. They put my 6 year old son into a totally race built Corvette. His smile was a mile wide. They have can diving, do not land on your face. Any how, cool destination, place to gather, place to stay over, other stuff to entertain, and that liberal policy concerning partying.4th of July weekend is coming up. Cadillac Jim
I'm in South Jersey, and my convenient driving radius is within 100 miles of Philadelphia. There have been small meetings for lunch in North Jersey, and I have recommended Atlantic City as an inexpensive place with lots of entertainment. Cadillac Jim
How about my favorite destination, Atlantic City? Inexpensive venues most with free off-street parking for guests and inexpensive for visitors, plenty of shows, IMAX theater, the beach, and the legendary Boardwalk. Or, if we have under 20 or so pretty Cadillacs and get all those washed and invite the locals to come and look at them, I could likely make arrangements for getting Freedom Park in Medford NJ, which is two blocks south of NJ Route 70 in Medford, which is 18 miles from Philadelphia. Or, 30 miles East of Lakehurst NJ (where the Hindenburg burned) down NJ Route 70, if that will help you find it on a map. It's easy to get to from the NJ Turnpike, IH 295 or IH 95, the PA Turnpike, etc. There's a decent car wash in Medford, too, but it isn't a no-contact type. Here's a satellite photo of Freedom Park: http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=h&lat=39.89...186&zoom=18 Quote -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. Crimson12
A Cadillac rally at Buffalo and in the month of February? No thanks. I think a warmer location or time of year would be preferred. But that's just a guess. lol Besides my sts doesn't exactly look sexy this time of year with the winter package on.
