Logan
If you work for GM. You can have full access to the online GMSI2000 service manual. This is what the dealers are using. Simply use your GMID and login.... No more GMSI2000 CDs for me.....that frees up about 6g on the laptop.... http://service.gm.com/index_en-US/si.html Logan Diagnostic LLC www.airbagcrash.com www.ledfix.com www.ledfix.com/yukontaillightrepair.html www.ledfix.com/ledreplacements.html www.ledfix.com/j42385toolrental.html

mhinchley
Someone here can post the location of the EGR valve, here is the location on a 96, take a look to see if its there, the EGR is #23, on the underhood and #4 on the second photo The EGR valve is located at the left end of the engine, behind the throttle body. Keep in mind that this one is not vaccuum controlled, rather it is controlled by the PCM, so it has an electrical plug on top of it, and is held in palce by two nuts. (so don't be looking for a vaccuum line, there is none). I am not sure though if the 98 is the same, this looks to be for a 2000 deville (my book covers all. But it will be my location or BodybyFisher's location).
mhinchley
By the way if you need the PCV valve, it looks to be located under the intake cover, and in the left side of the rear cylinder head valve cover(standing infornt of the car, you will be facing it, on the rear head, left side). There is a dirty air tube with a hose coupling, between the tube and the valve and it plugs right in to the valve cover. So you should spot it easily that way. If you are cleaning or replacing, make sure you check the tube of obstructions.
BodybyFisher
It sounds like mhinchley and my location is the same, that second photo above is leaning over the driver side fender, or left side of the engine, the EGR is behind the throttle body toward the driver, Mike Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
