rockfangd
I believe yours may still be a 2 din regular radio. I love my 2 din android radio I put in my Tundra. Works very nicely and was not too expensive. Brand is Hizpo (off brand) but been trouble free since install. Touch screen, bluetooth, apps, etc... ejje
Ok thanks. I cant find a simple harness cause of the amp / reciever in the trunk so what is the best way to do this? It´s the original Boose speakers and the automatic antenna. Edited July 22, 2022 by ejje
Logan
Yeah.....the dash unit is just kind of a head unit....no amp. Surprised the Bose unit is still working. There have been some problems. FYI....I think the Bose is running 4 ohm speakers. I would lean toward replacing the whole system. That said....there may be a possible GM/ Bose harness fix at Crutchfield. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120701857/Metra-70-1857-Bypass-Harness.html?tp=3486&cnxclid=16586636087444275675810090302008005 Quote Logan Diagnostic LLC www.airbagcrash.com www.logandieselusa.com www.ledfix.com www.ledfix.com/yukontaillightrepair.html www.ledfix.com/ledreplacements.html www.ledfix.com/j42385toolrental.html
ejje
Ok. I find it but when I read all other post I realise I can´t fix it. I´m too old for bending my knee. I have shout down the project.
Logan
I had to go look it up. From a 1993 Cadillac service manual. The dash unit is a control head. The radio receiver / amplifier is in the trunk (non Bose). With the Bose system, different type of radio receiver in trunk with no amp, each speaker had its own integrated amplifier. The Bose system could be problematic 30 years ago.....hence it would likely be best to replace the entire setup before spending any real money. rockfangd
I was afraid of that. The radio unit outputs to the receiver, the receiver outputs to the speakers. Same as my 97s Quote GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile

Logan
Crutchfield appears to ship only to US territories. Some out of Canada also. On Google.... see several other sources selling the Metra-70-1857 harness. These include Amazon and eBay (with options for shipping to Sweden). https://www.ebay.com/itm/Metra-70-1857-89-96-Cadillac-Corvette-Bose-Amp-And-Tuner-By-Pass-Wire-Harness/392364006338 Quote Logan Diagnostic LLC www.airbagcrash.com www.logandieselusa.com www.ledfix.com www.ledfix.com/yukontaillightrepair.html www.ledfix.com/ledreplacements.html www.ledfix.com/j42385toolrental.html

sonjaab
Since its a PIA Bose your best bet is to have your head unit repaired OR buy another brand unit with the features you want. BUT again your bose speakers wont work with a different head unit installed. Unless you add new wiring and replacement speakers also. Considering where you live .........I WOULD HAVE THE HEAD UNIT REPAIRED and buy a Garmin unit or similar. www.unitedradio.com can repair your existing head unit.
