pose_etc
As the title states, after some time out in the heat the key fob would not work. Tried changing battery and that did not help. I have replaced the shell and keypad, which helped a bunch. Therefore the only thing original is the circuit board. Any solution or insight would be appreciated. Thanks. BodybyFisher
Heat is the enemy of capacitors, it is possible that the heat damaged the board. Direct sun on a black surface can get quite hot. You did exactly what I would have done, cleaning, battery and key pad. The only other thing I might do is try jumping the button area on the circuit board to be sure the board is the problem. That said, I have a terrific mom and pop hardware store near me called Long Island Hardware, they sell new key fobs. You might give them a call if you can't find a replacement https://www.lihardwarestore.com Quote Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

I thought about you today, I went to LI Hardware for plumbing parts and took a look at the keyfobs they sell for you. They are made by Duracell oddly enough. And here is the website! I hope this helps you https://duracellremotes.com cdgrinci 1 Quote Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
Logan
Odd that Duracell would do that...first I've seen or heard of them. Curious....some applications are just the shell and keypad.... No circuit board. cdgrinci
Go to the website, put in your vehicle information (make, model, year; not all are available though) and there may be a case only, full function remote or both available. BodybyFisher
I didn't realize that it was only the case, I aee a link to full remotes but it seems to go nowhere I have found that the rubber buttons lose their ability to be conductive so in some instances a replacement case with buttons could be helpful.
