John Emerich
I am not very mechanicly inclined, and don't understand fancy lingo... I have a 98 seville sts showing two messages on dash. 1. service suspension. 2. because of no. 1 0-90 mph, but no codes showing. How do I figure out what part of the supension is causing my messages. Thanks
Texas Jim
if those messages are on the dash... codes are set in the system. Pull the codes using the buttons on the dash and then post the codes here. We will try to help you diagnose and fix it.

BodybyFisher
If you are getting service suspension and your speed is limited, a code must be set. Is this an EXPORT car? How are you checking for codes via the on board system? Go to the bottom of my signiture and read on how to retrieve codes for your year and model, is that how you are doing it? Try again, if nothing try disconnecting the battery (negative cable) for a minute and reconnect and see what you get Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
John Emerich
1998 cadillac seville sts. I am pressing the on off button, and the up down button. dash board flashes then it prompts to check codes (ALLCODES) But says no codes by each one The 0-90 is a safety code because of the suspension code. If I could get a code, I have pleanty of help with installing parts
BodybyFisher
I do not believe you need to toggle through with the up down button, the codes will appear on their own by system after a segment check were all pixels light up. Check the directions again, and just let the system run. Just start is, on my 96 is was the warm button on the AC and the OFF button on the AC held together if I recall then the system just reports codes. By toggling through like that you MAY override a parameter and while that is temporary (i believe) it can create problems. John Emerich
Sorry didn't mean toggle through... I hold my on off and updown together to start the dash code process. It's runing through, but showing nothing
BodybyFisher
As JIM said, if you get a message, you SHOULD get the associated CODE..... Try disconnecting the battery (negative cable) drive the car, and check codes again. See what you get. Message should be generated by code, this should be something like an ABS code Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

rockfangd
I didnt see RSS in the list you posted above. RSS will be the catagory you are looking for. Also if you press down it allows you to manually scroll through the controllers to find the one you want. Wonder if it could be related to the stability sensor in the column.
