My "new" 2002 SLS

Hey guys,

A couple months ago a bought a "new" car - a 2002 SLS.

I wanted "as close the same" as what I already had. I really wanted an '03 or '04 STS, but when I found this one, I couldn't pass it up.

I bought it off the 2nd owners. They had purchased the car as an optimum used vehicle with 4-year warranty. As such, the car has always been maintained at the dealership it was originally sold at. I have a printout of the full history, starting with the PDI at 5km.

I paid $6500 certified, and it had just shy of 97,000km at time of ownership transfer.

Some photos of the '02 SLS with my '93 STS:

And the first 100k (no idea how Texas Jim can take such photos clearly at speed!):

So far I love it... Not quite as quick as the STS but its great having a car where everything works *knock on wood*. Really quiet and noticably lower-revving at highway speeds too, which is nice. I've noticed 2-3mpg improvement which I hadn't expected over the STS, and very welcome in the face of $1.30/litre gas.

I've got a few questions that I'll be posting in the next couple days but thought I'd ease into it. Until next time! B)

You should go find some 17" STS rims off kijiji and an STS trunk badge from the boneyard...presto poofo!!! It'll sure as hell have the look, since you have the foglamps...Nice Car!!

Thanks guys!

Scott - The car came with new Michelin Hydroedges (and I have Blizzaks on CTS rims from my old STS for the winter). Once the Micelins are worn out, I'll see what 17" STS rims I can find!

Before getting an STS badge, I need to replace some of the trim (woodgrain only goes as far back as the front door handles!). But in reality, I'll probably never bother. Though I would like to find a woodgrain shifter knob.

I'm about to post a "is my front motor mount shot" thread complete with video, please check it out!

Thanks

Chris
