sprinter10
On my 2000 STS the headlights were very dull hirting the appearence of the car pluss hirt how much you can see at night. I bought the turtle wax lense restoring kit from walmart but then as I was about to do it my neigbor came over who details cars for a living and showed me how to properly do it. After I masked off the paint around the headlight. He Gave me 400,600,1000,1500 grit sandpaper and told me to start with the 400 and work my way up. Then to follow with this polishing compound he had made by 3m. I then took the lense clarifying compound that came in the turtle-wax kit and used that to bring the headlights up. There was a huge difference. If you walk up close you can see there not as good as new because I did not clean up the inside. (I think that will be a future post). http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5449339&l=edb017319d&id=637739241 Turn this http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=5449327&l=5b8c5950a8&id=637739241 to this!!! BodybyFisher
Save your money and buy a tube of whitening toothpaste and using a damp cotton rag clean the lens with it a couple of times, I just did an I30 and the looked new in all of about 10 minutes. Rinse with clean water Smells good too.. KEEP OFF PAINT The whitening toothpaste has grit in it, that removes the oxidation Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

Seanmannino
I used the turtle wax kit last winter worked amazingly well until oh about the mid part of summer when they were getting beat on by the sun. Yellowed in about a week and I am having to purchase new lenses now because I am tired of the yellow! lol The toothpaste works well wish I would have used it before the turtle wax kit. Just my 2 cents. Have a good one all! Sean M. 1997 Cadillac DeVille
rockfangd
I tried the toothpaste on a 97 deville and the outside came out great but the insides look terrible. Maybe in the spring I can take them apart. I like the 96- much better, the 97s and up just seem much cheaper in general GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile

winterset
I tried the toothpaste on a 97 deville and the outside came out great but the insides look terrible. Maybe in the spring I can take them apart. I like the 96- much better, the 97s and up just seem much cheaper in general I have been on the lookout the last 3 days, and indeed many of the 97-99 Devilles I saw have both clouded lights, and the plastic "chrome" around the car is either peeling, or it seems to have fallen off the car. That plastic was probablyreformulated in '97 . I like the more modern styling, but cosmetically, it seems like a challenge keeping them nice.
