After An Exhausting Bailout, AIG Execs Needed A Break!

Imagine watching the international company you run fall apart. Now imagine you've got to work double time to keep the company from destroying the global economy because you've involved your company in many businesses around the world.

Everyday you wake up and the newspaper is hammering your boneheaded decisions. Meanwhile CNBC has ten people on the screen at once talking about your failures. Finally, you go hat in hand to the government who reluctantly gives you the money you need to protect the world against the mess you made.

Ugh, feels stressful just thinking about it. Afterwards, you probably want "Me" time to recuperate, correct? Okay, good. Now that you've been through what the AIG execs have been through, we hope you won't judge them too harshly:

Less than a week after the federal government committed $85 billion to bail out AIG, executives of the giant AIG insurance company headed for a week-long retreat at a luxury resort and spa, the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, California, Congressional investigators revealed today.

...AIG documents obtained by Waxman's investigators show the company paid more than $440,000 for the retreat, including nearly $200,000 for rooms, $150,000 for meals and $23,000 in spa charges.

"Less than one week after the taxpayers rescued AIG, company executives could be found wining and dining at one of the most exclusive resorts in the nation," said Waxman as he prepared to question AIG executives.

If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.

This is a PERFECT EXAMPLE of why we should not be bailing out Wall Street. The money will be blown and they'll be back in six months or so looking for more and if the American people don't give it to them, they'll bankrupt the entire country. It's called extortion. These low life psychos need jail time.

No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.

Their next overnight stay should be Federal Prison. I cannot imagine anything more arrogant.

This is just a perfect example of how these "executives" as psychopaths think. They just don't see the "connect" between what they're doing and reality. They think of themselves and no one else. They have no conscience, they could care less.

If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. It's what happens when you create something out of nothing. The entire market is built this way.

By the way, this trip was probably for corporate reasons, and was planned for months in advance. When I worked at Citibank, they used to have all of their real estate people from all over the country come to NY, about 300, can you imagine what that cost? Hotel, food, travel, etc..

The timing for this was bad no question

OK, so assuming it was planned months in advance, you think it was wise to even think of arranging such a "trip" based on the fact that AIG was already sinking into trouble probably WELL before the trip was planned? It still makes these corporate crooks look like self-serving, arrogant thieves.

AIG is claiming that the $440,000 "retreat" was planned months ago and it was for "independent brokers". HAR! As I've said several times, they'll be back looking for more money. This ain't over yet. :fighting0030:
