chazglenn3
You know Larry, that sounds like exactly the same ad as the company that I am buying my motor from. But Custom Innovations is in Madison, Wisconsin. Same warranty too. Charles Charles

Ranger
Yeah, First thing I noticed was no mention of Timeserts. Guess anyone interested will have to call and see what they say.
chazglenn3
Well that would be the difference. Custom Innovations specifically says that they Timesert all 20 head bolt holes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT Charles Charles
Kodiak
Seems as if Accurate Engines needs your core to work from. Custom Innovations does not... comparing ads here. I used to live near Acurate Engines, If I recall a few years back they were under a different name and quality not so great. I can call a buddy of mine who would know. I'll post after talking to him. Strange.... I moved across this State and now live about a mile from the GM tech center where they school their mechanics. I'm smack dab in the middle of Ford, GM, and Chrysler. Motor Mekka here folks.
chazglenn3
Yeah, I have Custom Innovations building an engine for me now. They need a $300 core deposit that they refund when you return the core to them. They seem like a good outfit. At least I hope they are. And I can't beat the $99 shipping special they are running. Kodiak
Talked to my buddy today about Accurate Engines.... He said they were OK.. They had their troubles back in the beginning but they started out in a small building... They didn't change their name, but it seemed to me they did... I dunno... He's used Jasper twice and got well over 100k on each. He said he wouldn't do a Jasper tranny again though. Him and I both agreed if your block is good best to use your own block if possible. Never know what a rebuild has been through. I have a certified rebuilder near here and I know he gets $2700 to do my F150 4.2 V6. (205K trouble free miles and counting, I think I should pick the time before it does, it is getting noisey) I just can't lay up my truck for two weeks for him to rebuild it. I need it for work.
