Ya gotta love youtube.com.

Lots of videos on just about any form of entertainment.

They really drift around the pylons with this CTS-V ... amazing exhaust sounds.

The conclusion is wacky, "It feels cheap"?

The host, Jeremy Clarkson, is an *smurf*.

He calls the CTS-V overpriced, feels cheap, tranny rubbish, too big, and my favourite, " it corners as well as Keanu Reeve's emotes an english accent".

Then, he drives the car ... it smokes a v8, all wheel drive, stick shift Audi.

The Audi professional driver actually loses his line on one turn and drifts into the weeds.

He concludes the test by saying it doesn't feel like a quality product.

He made up his mind before he ever sat in the car.

The 2nd video appears to be a Caddy club in the Czech Republic ... I can only imagine the

stares those kids get when they drive down the old streets in what looks like a 99 STS, 90 Eldo,

1971 Eldo conv, 68 conv., and a 87 LSC Lincoln.

I like this one ... a 96 stock STS surprinsing a 300ZX.

Note that the CTS-V G-meter records maximum G-force in each direction, and when they do a close-up and discuss the meter, the test car shows 1.1G's cornering to the left and 1.25g's cornering right. NOTHING to complain about there.

I love the British, but this particular program tends to be so offensive about cars from the USA that I avoid watching it.

Thanks BbF, that was a funny video!

I didn't take umbrage at the "cheap" remark (pun intended); it was to have been expected.

I WAS annoyed, however, at seeing some glee as the CTS-V placed so low on the totem pole in the time trials. Heck, it looked like the year-of-the-flood in that part of the video! I wonder how long they had to wait for the rain?

That was probably the best Euro-review that might have been expected. After all, even our homegrown reviewers show little respect for Detroit iron.

Warren

P.S. Also enjoyed the Cadillac promo: "469hp . . . . it has four doors."

I know right? Run the test in DRY weather and lets see what happens! It looked pretty good in wet weather if you asked me!

Talk about sand bagging....

It looked pretty scary! I'd have stained the passenger seat if I'd been along for the ride. :P

I actually like the show, I have to admit some of their comments weren't spot on, but its the banter and what not that I like the most, but they are right about (well at least last year) of the CTS-V and GTO (the US version of the Holden thing) being somewhat equal.

Overall they did rate it pretty good, they loves the test versus the audi, the thing about the dinging was kinda dumb because.......almost all cars I can think of ding when the doors open and keys in the ignition...its so you don't forget your keys in there and/or make sure your headlights are off. In realitly it really is a more expensive, with more luxury, GTO. That is supposingly changing with the next CTS however.

As far as "wet" and "dry" time trials go, they rank each and every car that way, if when the decide to do the track test its raining, or the tracks wet, the give it a wet time, sometimes in later shows the go back and do it in the dry.

To me it stacked very well for the wet when you see what was below it on the list. Plus the CTS-V isn't going to be in at the top of list when you consider what other cars are on that list.

The Green's Machines

1998 Deville - high mileage, keeps on going, custom cat-back exhaust

2003 Seville - stock low mileage goodness!

2004 Grand Prix GTP CompG - Smaller supercharger pulley, Ported Exhaust Manifolds, Dyno tune, etc

1998 Firebird Formula - 408 LQ9 Stroker motor swap and all sorts of go fast stuff
