I saw an ad on TV for a new model Buick and it has the Northstar.

Buick Lucerne:

The Lucerne CXS is in my opinion is most inexpensive way to buy a new

FWD seville/deville, as it appears to be the same chassis / drivetrain.

FWD seville? groan, I do not want a FWD. I am a little disappointed that the only RWD GM car with a V8 is the STS. I was hoping for a dodge charger type platform but with a GM leaning. yes the lucerne V8 sounds nice but its the same platform as the impala SS, right? no, I am not interested in a GTO.

I think the impala SS is FWD and has the 5.3L vortec motor. the grand prix GXP? has the same setup. the monte SS has the supercharged buick 3.8L. the monte is the old grand prix body. at least there are lots of FWD engine choices now.

3.8 buick SC monte SS & grand prix GTP?

Northstar-Lucerne

5.3L Vortec-Impala SS

3.6L DOHC in LaCrosse

makes me wonder how GM makes money.

The Lucerne is a really nice car I think. I want one!

The new Monte Carlo SS and Impala SS share the same drivetrain and are on the same platform. Both offer the Vortec 5300 V-8 engine.
