THEFT SYSTEM PROBLEM

Recommended Posts

My 99 Deville with 135,000 would not start this morning. No symptoms or problems til this morning. Got the message"THEFT SYSTEM PROBLEM CAR MAY NOT START". Codes are: B0533, B2471, B2750, C1276, U1016, U1255.

Looks like the passkey is messed up. Any ideas or suggestions? I tried both of my keys too.

Happy New Year,

Bill.

Try spraying the key and lock with WD40 and work it in and out to distribute it. Someone posted a method (I think Kevin) to bypass this issue, but I can't remember what year it was for..

DTC B0533 Fuel Sensor Feedback Shorted High

B2471 - Interior Lamp Fault

>>B2750 - PASSKey Data Communication Failure<<

DTC C1276 Delivered Torque Signal Circuit Malfunction

DTC U1016 Loss of Communications with PCM

DTC U1255 Class 2 Initialization Error

I would clean your battery cables real good also, maybe you are getting an intermittant on one of your positive cables.

Probably wires inside the lock cylinder failed. You can replace the lock cylinder or fool the system installing a resistor equal to one in your key into the circuit. A few months ago there was a post with similar condition. The model year does not matter.
