Cadillac Jim
This engine has significantly more potential. Advance the cam timing to move the torque and hp curves up in RPM, then work from there. There will be other cam/head treatments that were worked out that way. This is a street engine. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. Cadillac Jim
I think that this engine would work with an unmodified THM400 or THM500 (Eldorado transverse), providing excellent driveability, reasonable gas mileage, and alien-abduction-like move-the-car torque on demand. Just the way I like it. Lighter than a SBC, because of the use of a more expensive alloy in the block? I can easily believe that. A couple of years back, we had a fellow wanting to run a 425 in oval-track racing against SBC's. I would like to hear back from that.
