Cadillac Jim
P0171 Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1P0174 Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 2 It's pretty clear that you have a big-time vacuum leak. You might use a tube from an empty roll of paper towels to see if you can hear a hiss from any of the EGR pipes, and "look" around that way. The vacuum leak must be between the throttle plate and the intake plenum so there is a pretty tight limit on where it can be. If you unbolted the intake manifold, take it off again and check the gasket to make sure that it didn't fold on you or some such. Also, check the rubber connector between the manifold and the throttle body. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. BodybyFisher
Check around for a vacuum leak that affects both banks, the brake booster vacuum hose, the PCV hose, the intake plenum (rubber conduit between the throttle body and the intake gets a crack on the bottom usually and it leaks spray carb or brake cleaner around the area and see if your idle changes). Don't spray a lot, the fluid gets ingested directly into the intake and you do not want to hydrolock your engine. We have seen that happen, it might be better to use ether (starting fluid) if you have it as it evaporates quickly. CaptainMorgan
Ok, it was that coupling between the TB/Crossover and the Intake Manifold. Car is finally back on the road again, fuel trims are back to normal, and no coolant leaks so far, thanks a lot for the help guys.
