voodoostranger
How do you adjust the tranny cable in the asr box?
KHE
Was the cable adjustment disturbed at some point? The cable does not require adjustment unless it has been replaced. There is a procedure in the shop manual where the release tabs on the cable are opened and a specific size drill bit is inserted into the opening (asr bcover removed) and then the cable is latched. I don't have the manual handy at the moment for the exact procedure. It is not something that is typically adjusted unless component replacement was performed. CoupeDTS
There is adjustment instructions if you google 700r4 tv cable adjustment. I'm not sure the 4l60 is the same as the 700r4 and 2004r cables. Cadillac Jim
The THM700R4 was renamed the 4L60 for the 1990 model year. KevinW
What's the background on this late shifting issue? Is the transmission 100% original? Are the WOT shift points correct? How long does it take to reach 60 MPH? Keep in mind that a restricted exhaust system (or similar problems that would impair engine response) can lead to delayed and firmer shifting because T.V. pressure (in response to increased throttle opening to achieve a desired power level) is too high for the engine's torque output. ___________________________________________________

KevinW
The T.V. cable adjustment usually affects all shifts. How are the 2-3 and 3-4 now? ___________________________________________________
