The market has to be very limited for those engines considering it has been 26 years and 23 years respectively since they were in regular production. Not many of those cars left on the road. I have been debating buying the car for virtually nothing, the woman wants $300 for the car just to 'get rid of it'... Its in poor condition but one of these engines would fit nicely, not sure if it has a 4.1 or 4.5 The '87 & '88 had the 4.1 but it was NOT the same 4.1 in the rest of the FWD Cadillac lineup. The Allante engine had multi-port fuel injection, roller cam followers and a special tuned intake manifold. The other Cadillacs of that vintage had throttle body fuel injection. I think the Allante got the 4.5 engine from 1989-1992 but am not sure. I'd need to look at the sales brochures I have. It would still have the roller cam followers, tuned intake, and multi-port injection. The remaining FWD Cadillacs got the munti port injected engine in 1990 but I am not sure about the roller cam followers. If the engines that are for sale are the TBI engines, they're not the same as what's in the Allante.
