CoupeDTS
I have a 70 calais. When I turn on the headlights the passenger side light will take 30 seconds to come on the past few times and now won't come on at all. I dint think its burned out because when I switch to high beams its the same, when the low beam doesn't work then neither does the high beam but they will both work when one works. Also sometimes the passenger parking lights will be on high, making the green arrow always lit up on the dash, but no bulb is burned out. I've heard of headlight grounds before but never dealt with them. Is that a likely cause here or a bad connection somewhere else? * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE

Texas Jim
First thing I would look at would be wiring and grounds... especially grounds.

CoupeDTS
Ground was pretty rusty, sanded it down. Connections on the passenger side headlight bulbs were green corroded like the battery posts get. Tried pulling the pins out to clean them but some of them broke. Getting new pigtails and should be good after that * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE

CoupeDTS
It worked out great. New clean pigtails and new headlights where needed and sanded down grounds and everything turns on instantly interior lights changed brightness I noticed while the car was running so I grabbed a voltage regulator today too. That fixed that! Amazing how small and simple the new regulators are compared to the originals * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE
CoupeDTS
Been restoring/cleaning it for 2 months now. It was in rough shape, been sitting in a barn for 15 years but had been repainted before and very well taken care of so after a TON of cleaning, scrubbing, polishing, shampooing, new carpet, new engine externals its a head turner! 97k miles and was a funeral home car in the early 70s. I've had 70s 80s 90s and 00s cadillacs and all have their own characteristics. This one by far rides the smoothest but lacks in other areas. CoupeDTS
Thanks. I looked up the numbers on the car, a 1970 calais they only about 5,000 of the 4dr hardtop, compared to the 80,000+ of the deville version. So its kind of rare. I like it bald too, all devilles had the vinyl top. * 1966 Deville Convertible * 2007 Escalade ESV Black on Black * 1996 Fleetwood Brougham Black on Black V4P -Gone* 1983 Coupe Deville Street/Show Lowrider -Gone* 1970 Calais 4dr Hardtop GONE* 2000 Deville DTS - Silver with Black Leather and SE grille GONE* 1999 Seville STS - Pearl Red GONE
