Bruce Nunnally
Took one of our marathon road trips Texas to South Carolina to visit my Wife's folks. 1,127 miles each way, 2,254 miles round trip, around 19 hours in the car each direction. Our routine is to stop every 2 hours or so for gas/restrooms/snacks which breaks up the trip and helps with the physical toll. Other wise we find that if you just keep going, eventually you get there, and prefer to go straight-through rather than spend 2 days on the road each way. I did manage to let my son drive part of the way back, so that gave a nice respite. The 2005 CTS did well as always. There was one odd spurt on the way with the engine light coming on for a bit although no messages were displayed. At the next stop I discovered the dip stick was not snug, so perhaps that contributed. I had the oil changed this week to get ready for the trip and perhaps it was not properly engaged after. Lots of Cadillacs on the roads both directions, with CTS sightings now out-running other models. One might have expected to see more SRXs given the high sales, but don't think I saw one on the road this trip. BodybyFisher
Glad your trip was safe and fun Bruce, did you run into any rough weather?, it was quite cold thoughout the south Let me know Jim, my wife is a great cook and we would be honored if you would stop in. Let me know what you have planned! Do you plan on going north into New England or south after you come here? I may be able to suggest a few beautiful routes... The end of Long Island leads to Cape Cod, Gloucester, Rockport or you can go south to Virginia Beach via the Chesapeke Bridge Tunnel or Charlottesville via the Skyline Drive scenic route with a beautiful hotel at the top... http://www.nationalparkreservations.com/shenandoah_skyland.php Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

BodybyFisher
Well good, consider taking the skyline drive north or the chesapeke bridge tunnel north, its very interesting and scenic. I am originally from Philadelphia, and can recommend some nice things to do in Phila, like Longwood Gardens, Cape May, Atlantic City, Lancaster, Hershey, etc.. You could hit Cape Cod and then continue on to Niagra Falls also. The orient point ferry takes you from the tip of long island to new london, connecticut, cutting off a lot of driving. The north fork of long island has wineries and new london is a sub base. Cape Cod is a beautiful place to spend some time at that time of year.
