Bruce Nunnally
In fact, as I understand the philosophy behind the redesign of GM’s Cadillac brand definition is to make people think about luxury, or the tagline of “The new standard”, hoping to position it with BMW or Mercedes. I’ve owned Mercedes. If I walk into a Mercedes retailer, I’m treated as a valued customer or given the attention I desire should I have questions about a vehicle. In short, I’m treated to a Concierge level of service befitting of the brand and the experience. Walking into a Cadillac retailer? I’m treated as if I’m purchasing a Chevy, and that’s not the experience that will get people thinking about a brand in a luxury class, or view it favorably against its European and Japanese rivals. Texas Jim
When I was looking for a new DTS .. after my first one burned... I also had bad experiences at a local Cadillac dealer. Two different times, I went by a dealer and gave them my name and phone number and told them what I was looking for. I was basically blown off by both of them; Their attitude was that I couldn't afford a new Cadillac. I "NEVER DID" receive a call from either one of the salesmen. It really ticked me off. I finally found what I was looking for at a different dealer and bought it. If I hadn't already had my mind made up about what I wanted... A new White Lightning DTS... I probably would have considered different cars.
BodybyFisher
It would be like, you buy the car in SPITE of the salesman, because you have researched it and know more than him I hate snob appeal presentations, I hate it in Audio Showrooms, auto parts shops, auto mechanics or so called experts. That attitude totally turns me off. That hoity toity holier than thou nose up in the air crap that assumes you are not worthy or not knowledgable. My wife tells a story, where when she was 26, she went into a Corvette dealer to buy the 86, and is sitting in it, and the salesman walks over and says, young lady, you know, the insurance on that car is very expensive! My wife looked at him and said, HUH?, I know, I just drove up in a 78 Corvette, but I wont be buying one here. GM is an old company, it had a swagger at one time, like the Yankees, but they got lazy and complacent and FAT and assumed that they would be kings forever. Its a cycle. They will wake up, but it looks like they are waking up too late. Maybe, I need to walk into my local cadillac dealers with my $500 Brooks Brother suit on, this article and tell them they need me to sell cars for them, hmmm Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

PS..I like Brooks Brothers suits. I have 2 of them..
