it smokes white just after starting. After warm up it seems to clear a little,

but when sitting at a light it smoke again. water appears to be dripping out of the

mufflers. no apparent water in oil. thanks for any advise.

what does the exhaust smell like? Is it sweet smelling or harsh fuel smelling?

I had a white-ish grayish smoke from my tail pipes. Real harsh fuel smell. Mine was a leaking fuel injector. Other possible causes include the fuel pressure regulator.

Smell your exhaust. Sweet smelling would be coolant.

WARNING: I'm a total car newbie, don't be surprised if I ask a stupid question! Just trying to learn.

Cheers!

It seems more like a fuel smell than sweet. The smoke has a

dark grey tinge to it. I already have 8 rebuilt fuel injectors

from RockAuto. It's been hard to start when hot, so I planned

on replacing the fuel injectors anyway.

Already replaced the fuel pressure regulator.

Any idea how difficult a job it is to replace all 8 fuel injectors? Do

I need to disconnect fuel lines, and replace gaskets? Any special

tools required to pull the injectors? Thanks.

Isn't hard to start when hot a symptom of a bad FPR? anyone confirm?

I'm a newbie to mechanics. I replaced my leaking fuel injector pretty easily. There are no special tools needed, and no gaskets to replace.

If you follow the fuel line all the way around to the end there is a screw off cap that looks like a valve stem on a tire. Take the cap off, and use some shop towels to relieve the pressure. It pushes in just like a tire stem does to let air out of a tire.

There's a couple bolts to undo along the fuel rail, and one by the EGR. Gently pry up the fuel rail. The injectors aren't hard to pull out or replace.

Make sure that you don't double-up on the o-rings, make sure the old injector comes off with the old o-ring.

That's about it really unless someone else has suggestions?

Try adding 12oz of Marvel Mystery Oil into the gastank, and on your next topping off of engine oil, use MMO instead of oil. then give it a few WOT's. between the MMO, and a WOT, it'll free up any stuck rings. the MMO will lubricate your fuel injectors as well as your fuel pump to boot.
