I am going to let others comment, I personally would be reluctant to use an ignition or starter kill, but lets see what others say..

well some alarms KILL the ignition or KILL the starter circuit when engaged

then there is a remote starter, where you sit in your house and start your car so that it cools or warms the interior, those are not recommended either.

you have the option to use the kill start.. and it doesnt have remote start..

Did you look at the schematic, does it cut into the small wire on the starter solenoid that engages the solenoid? If that wire is opened by the alarm when the start position of the key switch will be dead..

Whats wrong with the stock alarm system? Why are you replacing/adding to it?

i dont have a remote for the factory alarm... i was given this viper alram system from my dad, and assumed it was better. its one with the transponder, lets you know when your alarm is going off on the remote.

Some members have installed aftermarket alarms and those alarms have caused all kinds of electrical problems in the vehicle.

You can buy a key fob from the dealer or www.gmotors.com I think you will need it programmed at the dealer but we might be able to help you with that. I do believe that if you lock your doors even manually your alarm works. You might try a test, lock the door with the window open and reach in (as if you broke the window) and open the car door, the alarm should sound.

Turn on your key to shut it off or use the key in the door to unlock the door to shut it off (someone confirm this, I dont want Dana having a run away alarm )

I would just get a new fob (or used... ebay) and have it programmed.

I dont remember if the alarm works if you manually lock the car, but if it does, the security light on the dash should flash or light up after you lock it.

Just get in the car with the keys in your pocket... lock the doors with the power locks... wait atleast 30 seconds (for alarm to arm, the security light goes out I think)... manually unlock the door... then open it. If the alarm goes off, just start the car and it will turn off.

I dont really see how the viper alarm would be any better than the one on there, unless you were really into seeing your alarm going off on your fob. If you decide to put the viper on, Ill put money on there being problems with the car.
