cyrez00 Posted October 5, 2007 Report Share Posted October 5, 2007 Got a call about 5 weeks ago from my American counterpart living in Houston. She asked if i could miss one of 'my boys' for a couple of weeks. So i said 'sure!' and send my best one over to Houston (he is Spanish) When i called him to ask if he was willing to go for about 3 weeks he was all excited and said yes instantly. I carefully told him that i have never been to the US but that i know that Houston area is a bit boring. Now he is in the US for about 4 weeks and its agreed he is staying there another 3 weeks. Now every 2 days or so he is calling me complaining like hell that it's so unbelievable boring overthere. He can't seem to find any nice girls in the area where he is and the nearest pub is about 20 minutes drive (around here a maximum of 5 minutes walk!) Made me laugh and it felt great to tell him 'i told you so!!' You guys any suggestions on where he can go for some fun? (racetracks/bullrides and all that fun stuff?) Bruce Nunnally Posted October 5, 2007 Report Share Posted October 5, 2007 With approximately 2 million living in the area, Houston is the 4th largest city in the US; if he can't find something to do there he is not trying. http://www.houston-guide.com/ seems to be a good general guide. Rice University is in Houston, so for a younger crowd I would look for activities on or around the campus.
