abad95
Does anybody know if the Leather shifter in a '95 STS is Interchangeable with a '96-'97 STS? Thanks in advance. Florin
Marcus815
The leather on mine is beginning to tear and peel, and since I'm making a trip to the Junk yard early next week I'll see if I can yank off one and fit it on my Caddy. I'll let you know how it goes.

BodybyFisher
I cant help Florin, but most junk yards have cross reference books that should answer that. I have a bunch of STSs in my junk yard, if you want I will look them over for you, Mike Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

But the next time you are over there with a few extra minutes, ask if they have a 1998-2004 Seville wood shifter knob if you don't mind. I'm 99% certain there was only one wood available. ted tcb
Say, Mike, if you ever came across a clean center armrest top in beige leather, I'd be forever indebted to you. Up here, damaged STS's must spontaneously combust, because none are to be found. 1989 FWD Fleetwood, Silver 1995 STS Crimson Pearl on Black leather 1997 STS Diamond White 1999 STS Crimson Pearl 2001 STS Silver 2003 STS, Crimson Pearl

JimD
On the '98 to '04 years (Seville), it is a friction fit. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
kens96
You can remove the shifters easier if you remove the small "c" clip (looks like a wood staple) from the front bottom of the shifter handle. A small screwdriver and or needle nose plier usuallly does the trick. Most of the later model GM's mount the same way. I tested this with an after market carbon fiber handle that I replaced off my Vette on the Eldo while I refinished the leather on the Eldo's handle. Once the handle is off you can push the "c" clip back in and then encourage it back onto the shifter.

ted tcb
It rained cats and dogs today here, I didnt go to the yard when I do, I will look We sure needed that bit of rain. I know you're in the middle of your move, so thanks for keeping it in mind. No rush ... for me, my beige leather has rubbed off on the corner of the lid. I just need the top leather armrest piece ... it looks like a few small screws secures it to the top of the console. If nothing comes up, I can always try the temporary dye trick. Thanks, Ted. 1989 FWD Fleetwood, Silver 1995 STS Crimson Pearl on Black leather 1997 STS Diamond White 1999 STS Crimson Pearl 2001 STS Silver 2003 STS, Crimson Pearl
