Replacing suspension

hello again, i have another ? regarding struts/suspension, i have a '93 STS & i wanted 2 completely replace my suspension. i've noticed 3 different manufactures on here; Boston Suspensions, Arnott & Stutmasters. all which cost roughly the same, however i noticed that Strutmasters has a new preassembled (springs, strut mount bearings, & upper mounts w/ new components) "passive" front struts w/ or w/o a relay switch as well as rear shocks/struts w/ a relay or w/ a resisitor (complete kit 4 $636). being that these r "passive" would any1 recommend these instead of the Bostons or Arnotts?

I used Boston, and if I had to do it again, I would find a better alternative or go OEM.. They 'do the job' but they are not an exact fit and from that aspect I am dissappointed.. FWIW

If this was an ETC or STS, I would have gone OEM

thanks Body, my 1st instinct was 2 go w/ Boston, but when i saw that Strutmasters struts come w/ the coils it seems like a deal hard 2 beat!

I like my Eldorado's electronic suspension/ride, which is one reason why I bought it. My shocks and struts are getting soft now and I am planning on replacement soon and will be using OEM (most likely from Rockauto.com). After active suspension, passive just doesn't do the job IMO.

If you really want to look at Boston Suspensions, you might give it a couple of days and try again. Their ISP or domain name provider may have had a problem or a glitch. It's not as unusual as it should be for small business web sites.

I do agree with BodybyFisher that, if you have an STS or ETC you should look for price with OEM active suspension parts before you go with passive parts. If you like the handling of your STS or ETC, you will likely be disappointed in either the handling or the ride, or both. And, you will take a big price hit if you sell the car with passive struts. I wouldn't even consider buying an STS or ETC that had passive struts.

I put a set of Boston Suspension ie. "B.S." passive front struts on a 94 Deville a couple of years back. I thought they were fantastic. I liked the firmed up ride and handleing. Within 20 K one failed, and Dennis at B.S. would not replace it. He claimed that since I did not replace the strut bearings at the time, which was a big surprise to me at the time, he would not guarantee it. I had to purchase a new strut through him.

This left a very bad taste in my mouth! I passed the 94 deville to my son, who summerily totaled it in six weeks time! I now have a 96 deville that I will be replacing the struts on soon. I would not even remotely consider B.S. this time around.
