anyone know how to pull up the codes on my 2005 SRX? Don't know if this makes a difference, but it DOES NOT have the DVD navigation system. No problems thus far, just curious. Thanks!

The 3.2's you could pull codes by holding down the F1 and F6 on the radio simultaneously; this does not work on my 3.6L and I suppose does not on the SRX. I don't know of a way to access onboard diagnostics on the current CTS/SRX.

DaveDog,

I thought the OBDII bacame too complicated as the newer cars have

like 500 codes, that's why scanners are no good on the newer cars...

I assume the same thing happened to the onboard diagnostics...

Let us know how you make out...

dave, consider buying autotap.

See it here its reasonable if you ask me. I am about to buy an ACER laptop and autotap will be my first purchase. Mike

If you do not want to spend that much, you can buy a code reader from any autoparts store like this one, I have seen them for $50

DaveDog,

If an OBDII scanner is all that is required, you can rent on for free

from Autozone by renting one for ~$189 and returning it on the loan a

tool program for free!

Check it out...if yo are just curous on codes, don't buy- rent.!

Yea but it looks so good on my work bench, and I wow people when I hook it up to their car and tell them why the check engine light is on and then erase it...

For me to drive to Autozone, find someone to help me, and then have to deal with some 20 year old know it all, I would rather spend the $50 and keep it in my garage. I have a hard time having to depend on someone else just because I get a check engine light. For your average SCHMO on the block that knows ZIP about their car that's fine, not for me however...

Thanks guys! I'm loving this caddy, I just feel lost without the ability to hit a couple of buttons and diagnose the systems.

Hopefully though, I won't have to do that for a long time, but if I do, now I know what do do...THANKS!! I already own a laptop, I REALLY like the looks of that software Mike, good find. If you buy it please write us a review. I might buy one some day.
