Scotty
i was told today that 134a is now $10 a can and this hapened in the last month does anyone know what caused it to more than double in price My AC guy told me last week that 134A had a big price increase.. Mike Early on sailors navigated by the stars at night and the North star became the symbol for finding ones way home. Once you know where the Northstar is you can point your ship in the right direction to get home. So the star became a symbol for finding ones way home or more symbolically even finding ones path in life.
Ranger
Another industry trying to create a shortage.
MAC
My guess it's the same reason why anti-freeze has about doubled in cost...profit. I haven't heard anything about a shortage of either but the prices have certainly jumped way up. Have you noticed that 1 gal. of 50/50 anti-freeze is about the price it use to cost for a gal. of 100%. It’s likely about the same old, same old—money. Scotty
Here is the price increase discussion that my AC guy must have been talking about: http://www.newmaterials.com/news/741.asp http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20...ews_1b12ac.html Early on sailors navigated by the stars at night and the North star became the symbol for finding ones way home. KHE
Funny how they are blaming the switch from R-12 to R-134a as one of the factors......it happened 11 years ago. That is getting as bad as all of the excuses for gas prices. I bought a 30 lb cylinder of R-134a last summer for $57. It is now $148....... The funny thing is that at Meijers, Walmart, the 12oz cans are still $5.99 the last time I checked. Why can't China build their own refrigerant plants and oil refineries????
