Question about trouble codes on 1995 Cadillac Sedan DeVille

Recommended Posts

Here is the loaded question of the day (please don’t laugh), when retrieving the trouble codes using the off and warmer buttons on the climate control I have five codes. Four out of five are listed as history while only one is listed as current. Does that mean the history codes are old and have already been taken care of while the current one is the only issue effecting the car now? The codes that came up are: P013-History, P031-History, P046-History, P048-Current, P052-History. Does this mean the only issue now is P048? Thank you very much in advance for any information.

….. but maybe not "taken care of". Some faults may come and go. Some are only current for a short moment. Some vill be current for a few days even if they are not present.

Have You read the codes before? If not: Clear all. Check again. History codes gone? Check again after the next trip and after a few days (driven daily).

Thank you very much for your response. This leads to my next question. How do I clear all the codes? This was my first time reading the codes as I didn’t even know you could check the codes this way. I kept looking for an OBD I scan tool to check the codes. It was a good idea that they had allowing you to read the codes in this way.
