cadillacjeff7777
FYI...Looking at the GM service manual...2004 and 2005 model year engines still used the older style cartridge water pump. 2006 shows the new style water pump. Are the water pump housings/manifolds the same for the old style and the new? Could it just bolt up? 2008 DTS
Logan
FYI...Looking at the GM service manual...2004 and 2005 model year engines still used the older style cartridge water pump. 2006 shows the new style water pump. Are the water pump housings/manifolds the same for the old style and the new? Could it just bolt up? The engines were changed some for 2004. If nothing else changed...it would seem the 2004-2005 older style crossover would bolt right on. Even older 2000 ones may fit fine. But...this idea is....untested. I attached a couple of pics. First is a 2004 crossover. Second is a 2006 version with the new style pump. Logan
And a pic of the 2006 version. Obvious differences in the water pump area..but the hard points where the crossover bolts to the engine look the same. I am kinda surprised we had not heard of this design change earlier.
