ETH002
Hey I'm Trevor and own a 96 Cadillac de ville. I replaced the entire ac system, did a vaccum to draw everything out etc but after I finally got everything that I can think of done the ac will not blow at all, its like the compressor is there at all. Is the a code I must reset? Before I fixed anything the information control panal said service ac system, and something about the compressor. But replaced the system and it does nothing. Can you be of any help?
BodybyFisher
I code was probably set for low refrigerant, which will stop the compressor from engaging. Check codes by hitting HIGH and OFF on the AC controls simultaneously and read codes and post them here. There is a link below to OBD2 DTC code meaning, Follow the directions below on retrieving codes to delete them, or, disconnect the battery (negative cable only) for a minute and reconnect, compressor should engage if its due to low refrigerant Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

BodybyFisher
Disconnect the battery, did you try that? What AC codes are you getting? ETH002
Ya but I can try again, I've read it has to be disconnected for an hr? I had a salus made by snap on and it reset most every code except the ones pertaining to the ac. The code I believe is the acm code, I can not remember the exact number for the code. KHE
You need to have the refrigerant drum hooked up to the system and the air bled from the supply hose before clearing the code or it will just reset. joeb
if you can access codes, than your real close to clearing them. you go into access mode and the default is always PCM codes. you use the temp up/down buttons to toggle thru code access menus and can go into the ACM mode. it will show up the ACM codes and you clear them. just like you can clear PCM codes. when you say you can see the ACM codes but can't clear them, you reveal your limited code tweaking ability.
